Convoy of Hope is already in the disaster area- they pre-staged when they saw the storm coming, and they have their se Asia staging ground in Manila. They are through the Assemblies of God, and they really know how to do it. Convoyofhope.org
Mr. Mercat and I worked with Convoy of Hope in the aftermath of Katrina. I didn’t even know their affiliation. They did a good job of just facilitating stuff to go down there. We had an old camper trailer and filled it with bottles of water and medical supplies and drove down there. We didn’t go into NO but went west to where there was the under reported suffering from Rita. Left it all there except the old van and drove home up the old military highway. Quite an experience. I remember before we left, we could smell it. We live in Eastern Kansas and standing out on our second story deck the warm southeast wind wafted up the smell of wet wood and decomp. I’ll never forget that smell.
