President Obama considered veteran Harlem Rep. Charles Rangel a political hack and had such little regard for Jesse Jackson that he “effectively banned” the civil rights leader from the White House, a new book claims.
The political tome about the 2012 presidential campaign, “Double Down,” says Obama had little patience for “professional left” activists and “vanishingly close to zero” for what a White House aide called “professional blacks.”
“Apart from Georgia Congressman John Lewis and Jim Clyburn of South Carolina, Obama had nearly as much contempt for the CBC (Congressional Black Caucus) as he did for the Tea Party Caucus,” the book says.

My sympathies to all those black politicians who trusted Mr. Obama and now find that he doesn’t like them.

The Black Caucus and many Black Liberal Leaders are no longer needed for him. He is now in power and placed his yes people in power. Where have I heard a similar story like this?

I think I remember hearing something about former NY Gov David Patterson too, and Obama looking down on him.
I wonder if Obama sees himself as “better” than the rest of them. JJ and Rangel et al ARE far-left nimrods, but it’s interesting to see how and why Obama doesn’t care for them.

I don't doubt the little turd's enmity for Jackson. Recall Jackson's remark in '08 that he'd like to "kick his ass." Rangel must have also "dissed him" at some point. For Obama, it is all personal.
I think it more likely that this 'revelation' was planted at the urging of the White House, meant to cast Obama as a "moderate."

Exactly. Everyone knows Sharpton and Jackson are driven by MONEY, not ideology. The president wants fanatics, not hustlers.
