It wasn't that long ago that they were telling us that margarine was healthier than butter.

Same with thousands of other consumables. Coffee is good. Coffee is bad. Oat bran is good. Oat bran is bad. Chocolate is bad. Chocolate is good. Alcohol is bad. Alcohol is good.

It just goes on and on and will continue to do so until they run out of products or ingredients to demonize and then reverse themselves on.

Providing us information — reliable or not is one thing, but RULING us, BANNING food is another thing altogether. Not to mention that as you point out, conflicting info is coming out.

While I agree with everything you say; I would like to point out that not all margarine contains trans fats. I’ve used Becel margarine for decades. It contains zero trans fats, and tastes very good. Becel is popular in Canada; but, it might be sold under a different brand name in the USA.

Generally speaking, if you have to keep the margarine refrigerated, to prevent it from becoming a liquid, then it’s very low in trans fats.

Put a cube of margarine outside in the sun. Look at it a week later. Nothing will eat it except us humans.
