Recently declared Texas gubernatorial candidate Wendy Davis had a really, really bad opening round of campaign appearances. Naturally, the national press, which swooned over the Fort Worth Democrat's ultimately failed filibuster against a common-sense pro-life law in the Lone Star State's legislature, pretended not to notice.
They had local help. On Wednesday, At The Monitor in McAllen, Texas, in an item mirrored at the Brownsville Herald, "reporter" Ty Johnson opened with six paragraphs of fanboy fawning about Davis's Tuesday campaign appearance in Brownville, and then buried Davis's galling attempt to portray herself as "pro-life" in Paragraph 23. Also, stay tuned until the final segment of this post for how a Davis press aide tried to bully a local paper into retracting a headline.

Taliban: We are pro-woman! We are pro-veiled women! Pro-chaste women! Pro-submissive women! We are pro-family! Pro-family honor without stains! Pro-family with many wives and many children! We are pro-children! Pro-illiterate girls! Pro-boy soldiers!
Don’t worry we here in Texas will retract that beech and ship her off to a dreck blue state lib-hole that needs a Barbie. Hey Maryland—Wendy is far nicer to look at then old Bags Milcluckski—but she’s just as ugly on the inside—but you can still have her for free when we dump her...
I thought she was pro-catheterization after her antics on the floor in Texas. These people will go to any extreme to keep someone from being “punished” with a kid.

Yeah I hope Wendy doesn’t self destruct before the campaign is even going.
I value her as a huge campaign donation suck on national libs in a losing effort.
If Abbott comes out for amnesty after winning the nomination, it could make this a really close race.
Cute lil’ Wending and her baby-blood-red sneakers.
I sure hope you are right about moving Wendy to Maryland.
I am a little worried. The Dems seem to latch on to the abortion meme. Young folks and some women (I am sad to say) are single issue voters. They don’t seem to be too concerned with what the issue was about or the fact that Davis was not the leading factor in stopping the vote. The bussed in rabble rousers stopped it. But...darn it she looked so cute and brave. The mean old men were just ...so...mean to her. When she starts handing out free condoms...we will be sunk.
I have never gave time, outside of TEA Party time, to a candidate....but it maybe time.
Maybe it’s time for “Amateur Hour” in TX. Amateurs need a little representation too, to paraphrase the late Roman Hruska, R-NE. Seriously, TX will eventually return to its Democrat moorings, but it might be 2018 before they do. Soon the new citizen-immigrants will overwhelm us.
The people to which you refer consider abortion the ultimate in “sexual freedom”, and they are unable to be changed without spiritual conversion.
