Right Wing’s Surge in Europe Has the Establishment Rattled
The New York Times ^ | November 8, 2013 | ANDREW HIGGINS

HVIDOVRE, Denmark — As right-wing populists surge across Europe, rattling established political parties with their hostility toward immigration, austerity and the European Union, Mikkel Dencker of the Danish People’s Party has found yet another cause to stir public anger: pork meatballs missing from kindergartens.

A member of Denmark’s Parliament and, he hopes, mayor of this commuter-belt town west of Copenhagen, Mr. Dencker is furious that some day care centers have removed meatballs, a staple of traditional Danish cuisine, from their cafeterias in deference to Islamic dietary rules. No matter that only a handful of kindergartens have actually done so. The missing meatballs, he said, are an example of how “Denmark is losing its identity” under pressure from outsiders.

This is a perspective on a rightward shift in thought in Europe that I have not seen before from the NY Times.

Coming from that paper, this is an effort to spin the trends in Europe to discredit the backlash to the consequences of their Socialist Leaders.

It is worth noting that this trend is happening.

Are they talking about the population is moving rightward in the Leftist way or is Europe becoming more conservative?

They are talking about opposition to the Socialist coddling of the Islamist becoming more effective.

I seen no unified right wing movement in Europe. Rise of Nationalism? Probably.

But I see a rise of Nationalism in the US. And I see nothing wrong with that.

The US & some allies defeated the Fascists in WWII. They are now Global Fascists allied with Islamist and Leftists converging against the Christians & Jews. Many of those Christians & Jews are deluded by “moderate Islam”, a big mistake.

How can Europe become more conservative when Christianity is being erased on that continent?

After all, is Europe historically not the major source of Christianity in the world and isn’t Christianity the source of conservatism?

Communists call fascists “right wing”, but fascists are really their ideological brothers. The opposite of LEFTIST is “freedom and liberty”. Fascism and communism are BOTH TOTALITARIANISM. Both occupy the leftwing of the political spectrum. We have to attack their perversion of language.

A desire for individual FREEDOM AND LIBERTY is not “fascism”.

That’s a good question. The only one I know anything about is Golden Dawn & they are anti-communist/ leftist & not national socialist. (I wish people would stop referring to them as “neo-nazi”. It’s inflammatory & not true.) Anyway, they are in conflict with the leftist elements in Greece. As I understand it, their deal is that only the Greek people should be receiving aid & be able to live & work in Greece. Under their present circumstances, I don’t think this is unreasonable.

I think what this is really about is nationalism, stemming from the problems they’re having with the flood of immigrants coming from the ME & Africa. Much like we’re having with Mexico & Central America, but theirs seem to be more violent & demanding. Sharia law & Muslim customs are actually displacing European laws & customs.

I heard on the Michael Medved talk show Mike mentioned that the UK is undergoing a very strong evangelical Christian revival of some sort. He’s hoping that it will move across the Channel to France.

The European right has little to do with the US notion of the right. They are heavily statist but in a right wing way.

Totally agree.

Totalitarianism in all it’s forms is EVIL.

Progressive, Socialist, Marxist, Fascist, Communist, Islamist, Dictator. All EVIL.

Emporer Obama sowed the seeds that brought Morsi to power in Egypt. The Egyptians overthrew the Btard. Now Morsi’s trial in Egypt may bring Obozo’s true nature to light.

May the Real Truth of Benghazi come “out of Egypt”.

If it does, Obozo may yet inhabit a jail cell.

You hit the nail on the head. It is about immigration, not only from the Third World, but also from within the EU and the free movement of labor relating to the Maastricht and Schengen agreements. The people are rebelling against the technocrats in Brussels and their own political elites who are undermining their culture, history, and language.

Immigration is a major issue throughout Europe. They see it as a threat to jobs, the economy, and their patrimony. The same is happening here and will only grow. The Balkanization of America along racial, ethnic, cultural, and linguistic lines is inevitable. There are 45 million foreign born in this country, In 1970 one in 21 was foreign born; today is one in 8, the highest in 90 years, and within a decade it will be one in 7, the highest in our history.

We have entered the era of tribal politics in this country fueled by Obama and the Dems who see it as a winning strategy that will make them the permanent majority party. Issues will no longer play a significant role.

I hear the Jackboots coming out—soon they will be marching over the cobblestones once again. This time, the Jews will get a pass, and the facists will focus on Islam. Europeans can be the meanest folks out there when they set their minds to it. Remember back, not to long ago, Germany took on half the world and almost won. The people who brought you witch burnings, crusades, empires, and war machines, has been dormant for a while—they are waking up and when they do—the world will shake once again.

Good to know I’m on the right track & thank you for illuminating, kabar.

This isn’t quite turning out the way the globalists have planned.
