Obamacare sign-up concerns congressional staff (Sorry, not feeling the sympathy)

In the U.S. Capitol basement, an auditorium full of congressional staff grapples with the consequences of how their bosses upstairs wrote the Affordable Care Act. Starting Monday, they will have to choose a health care plan.

"A lot of employees are planning to separate because of this," one man stood up and declared at the first-ever congressional orientation for Obamacare. By "separate," he meant quit. It was one of many sharp moments of concern at the two information sessions set up by House administrators Thursday.

Both were closed to the press, but CNN was able to watch on an in-house TV channel. The camera faced the stage, not the audience and staff members who spoke could only be heard, not seen in the broadcast. They did not identify themselves and as a result, we cannot name them.

The congressional staffs (who wrote this unbelievable monster of a bill) should have to be covered by it just like the rest of us. I’m reminded of the scene in James Bond’s movie License to Kill in which he’s kicked a turncoat drug-dealing prosecutor into a pool of sharks. The prosecutor offers to share the millions in cash he’d gotten in bribes in a briefcase Bond is holding if he’ll let him out and away from the circling sharks. Bond replies, “No, you bought it, it’s yours, you keep it!” and throws the briefcase at him. The staff bought this mess, they can keep it just the same as the rest of us have to.

When five of the ten richest counties in the U. S. are clustered around the U.S. Big Government teat, these parasites get no sympathy. Go into the real America and see how that mythical jobs recovery is going, you slugs.

If 505 of feral government employees and half the worthless agencies (Interior, Commerce, Energy, Education, HHS, DHS, USDA, VA, for starters), we would never miss them.
Example: during the phony government slow-down, no one noticed except the poor little businesses that the Park Service goons shut down near the national parks. The economic numbers went UP during those 16 days for the rest of the country.

There shouldn’t be any “congressional staff” to be concerned. Legislatures state and federal should be part-time jobs with zero/minimal/part-time staff. No benefits, no pensions, no perks, no medical, no etc., etc. The can take care of necessary legislation semi-annually or quarterly part-time. They can get leave from their jobs doing something productive not progressive/destructive.
