Texas Sen. Ted Cruz will be making his first late-night appearance on NBC's "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" (11:35 p.m. ET/PT weeknights) when he visits on Friday, Nov. 8.
The senator will take to the "Tonight Show" couch to discuss the recent government shut-down, the debt ceiling, the gridlock in Washington and the current state of the Republican Party.
"The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" features a nightly monologue (the longest in late night), news-making guests, and ongoing comedy segments, including "Headlines," "Jaywalking" and "Battle of Jaywalking All-Stars." The result is a unique and humorous look at the daily happenings in the news and in pop culture.
The program is also a proven barometer of political clout. In 2009, the show made history by Being the first late-night show to host a sitting president when Jay Leno welcomed President Barack Obama as a guest.
"The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" is from Big Dog Productions in association with Universal Television. Debbie Vickers is the executive producer.

Jay’s gassing again.
Has Leno bashed Cruz for his father’s comment that ‘0bama should go back to Kenya’ yet? 3-2-1..
Leno definitely is toeing the Dem line.
Cruz is personable, but I wished he had quarreled more with the premise of the Leno-Democrat “talking points”. He didn’t get enough time to make his case.
Probably! I have never understood why Conservative politicians ever go on TV to give their views, especially talk (universally liberal) and comedy (always liberal) shows. Waste of time talking to 90% liberals!
Jay was neither respectful or alright to Sen.Cruz tonight, interrupting him at every possible opportunity, spewing leftist talking points, and acting like one low information talk show host.
If I were Ted, I wouldn’t walked out. But the able Senator handled the rude one with his usual grace and sharp wit.
That is jays gig.
he did it respectfully and I Think Ted Cruz did fine.
You all do remember that Jay was the FIRST in the MSM to grill Obama?
Ted knew this would be a tough gig.
He did fine.
You easily won that bet. Rather than letting Sen. Cruz give complete answers, Jaylibturd was interrupting Cruz with every Demonrat talking point he could barf out.
When Cruz noted it was the poor who bore the brunt of Traitorobama care, multi-millionaire Leno looked like a Pecksniffian ass with his hypocritical sympathy.
Senator Cruz did a terrific job and is clearly going to be a force in 2016. He needs to keep taking his message directly to the American people in forums like this. I like how his demeanor doesn’t change and he sticks to his conservative message, which is a winning one. The importance of that discipline can’t be underestimated and will be a huge asset going forward. The audience also seemed to be behind Cruz for the most part, which is encouraging.
Thank you!
I say keep on keeping on!
I hate all the hand wringing around here.
Ted Cruz Ping!
If you want on/off this ping list, please let me know.
Please beware, this is a high-volume ping list!
Yeah. That was the case. I was a litle surprised. It is NBC so not completely surprised. Leno has been one of the few that has ridiculed Obama so I thought he would play fair.
