Enrollment data from the four health insurance companies participating in the D.C. Obamacare exchange reveal just five people have enrolled.
The numbers were released Friday by Iowa Republican Sen. Chuck Grassley and Utah Republican Orrin Hatch.
CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield enrolled just two people from Oct. 1 to Oct. 30; Kaiser Permanente enrolled three people from Oct. 1 through Oct. 31; and neither UnitedHealthcare or Aetna had any enrollment data as of Nov. 4 and Oct. 24 respectively.
Grassely and Hatch sent letters to the four companies seeking the data on Oct. 24.
With numbers like these, its no wonder the Obama Administration hasnt wanted to release how many people have signed up for ObamaCare, Hatch said in a statement.
Both Senators called for the law to be delayed.
The chaos imposed on so many people is reason to at least delay the individual mandate, if not outright repeal it, Grassley said.
Whether its significant problems with the website, people being forced off the coverage they had or skyrocketing costs, these numbers are even more proof of what a disaster ObamaCare is and why it should be delayed, Hatch added.
Wow in DC of all places.
I assumed that place would have hundreds (thousands?) of navigators roaming the streets press-ganging Obamacare enrollees. To show the world how awesome it is.
Wow again!
All the website trouble is nothing but smokescreen for the real problem...NOBODY LIKES LAW, THE COVERAGE, OR THE COST, MORONS.
Slam it, jam it, cram it.
This is simply incredible news. Shouldn’t 0’ now award these brave souls the Congressional Medal of 0’care Honor, or something similar?
They’re on a roll up there! Before you know it they’ll have SIX! whoo hoo! /s
Repeat after me, Hatch, you moron: "REPEAL"
Not "delay", not "fix"... REPEAL.
Why couldn’t the regime just cook the books like it does with economic numbers?
“Theyre on a roll up there! Before you know it theyll have SIX! whoo hoo! /s”
What I can’t seem to grasp is, if all these people are losing their health care plans and they’re not signing up for Obamacare on the exchanges, what are they planning to do if there isn’t any other option? Are they going on medicaid? Are they just saying, “hey, we’ll just take one medical bill at a time” like the old days. Will the American spirit make a resurgence right in the face of all this socialism?
And there is supposed to be five to seven million enrolled by sometime early next year nationwide? I am not so good with the arithmetic here, but at this rate, it may take until 2050 to enroll that many, and by then, many if not most of the potential enrollees would have died.
Meanwhile, way more people are being advised they will LOSE the health insurance they now have, than shall ever be enrolled in even the most optimistic and generous projection made for the “Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010”.
Are those PAYING enrollees, or just signed up enrollees?
I would like to see them “mine” the customer data to see what sort of person signed up for that crap.
That’s a good question. I didn’t post the article, just the first one in to bitch. :)
Who in their right mind would sign up as a PAYING customer though? MAYBE someone with a very expensive pre-existing condition?
FIVE?
FIVE?????
LMAO!
So let’s recap, shall we?
The Dems shutdown the government because they wouldn’t delay the individual mandate.
Now they’re going to have to delay it because the computer system (if you can call it that) they built is a piece of ****.
Meanwhile, millions of people have had their plans cancelled and they can’t enroll, even if they wanted to. So they will effectively be without insurance on Jan. 1. I suppose they could buy plans directly from the insurers, but that bypasses any subsidies they might get, making the cost prohibitive for most of them.
What did I miss?
I am amazed that Obama couldn’t find more than 5 idiots in the White House to enroll in this nightmare.
Dang it, don't delay it, repeal it. Delaying it does more damage to the insurance system and will only facilitate a faster establishment of the single payer system. No thanks - Kill the Bill.
looks like they’er singing “God D*mn America”.
