Blaze Sources: Obama Purging Military Commanders
The Blaze ^ | October 23, 2013 | Sara Carter

Nine senior commanding generals have been fired by the Obama administration this year, leading to speculation by active and retired members of the military that a purge of its commanders is underway.

Retired generals and current senior commanders that have spoken with TheBlaze say the administration is not only purging the military of commanders they don’t agree with, but is striking fear in the hearts of those still serving.

The timing comes as the five branches of the U.S. armed forces are reducing staff due to budget cuts, and as U.S. troops are expected to withdraw from Afghanistan next year.

“I think they’re using the opportunity of the shrinkage of the military to get rid of people that don’t agree with them or not tow the party line. Remember, as (former White House chief of staff) Rahm Emanuel said, never waste a crisis,” a senior retired general told TheBlaze on the condition of anonymity because he still provide services to the government and fears possible retribution.

“Even as a retired general, it’s still possible for the administration to make life miserable for us. If we’re working with the government or have contracts, they can just rip that out from under us,” he said.

Retired U.S. Army Maj. Gen. Paul Vallely, an outspoken critic of the Obama administration, said the White House fails to take action or investigate its own, but finds it easy to fire military commanders “who have given their lives for their country.”

“Obama will not purge a civilian or political appointee because they have bought into Obama’s ideology,” Vallely said. “The White House protects their own. That’s why they stalled on the investigation into fast and furious, Benghazi and Obamacare.

The outlook is very ominous. Even Richard Nixon and Bill Clinton never tried something like this.

Don’t worry, a mid-level Roman functionary will be by shortly to poo-poo this story and assure us all that this is perfectly normal.

1.5B bullets; no one left to “not fire on civilians” so the ending is very bad.

The obamanaton of Americas desolation is at work yet again and has been very successful in his war against the Christians and Conservatives who once made this country strong and admirable. Now the devils children ruined it and are growing in power and numbers daily and I personally believe that America is destroyed from within, the democrats and rinos being the worst enemies of freedom, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. And it seems that we are entering into the time of sorrows, a period of bloodshed and malice and hatred brought in by pacifists who hate everyone including themselves.
It was a good country and a fine military, now it will become the kill squad for the murderers and liars of the left under the new neo Nazi officers obamanation will have appointed to power positions in the goon squad military.

Obama did call it “my” military.

And Obama did call for a civil org bigger than the military.

There should be little dispute that the number of flag officers in the military is far too high. A 30% cut in general officers and corresponding staffers would be wholly appropriate as we reset from two major combat operations.

With that in mind, there are ways of cutting general officers that improves the operations of the military, and there are ways of shaping the same cuts to serve a political interest not focused on fighting and winning wars. I have a hard time trusting that the cuts are being made to improve military readiness.

“Even as a retired general, it’s still possible for the administration to make life miserable for us. If we’re working with the government or have contracts, they can just rip that out from under us,” he said.

And this is how tyranny sets in - those who are witness to it's beginnings do or say nothing because it will hit their pocketbook. After awhile, this General (ret) will get his and wonder why nobody is sticking up for him or his country.

I’m not seeing it.

This is a good article because it posts the pictures and makes the assertions that these are the guys that are the victims of a purge. So lets review:

GEN Ham. He retired (fact). As a four star Commander of a Unified Command, he is appointed for a two-year term subject to the approval of the Senate. He must be reappointed to serve another two years (about half of the four stars are reappointed for another two years). He was not, so he retired. Pretty normal, although this is a case where the circumstances may indicate that he was at odds with someone above him.

RADM Gaouette. This one is complete bunk. The good Admiral and his Carrier Task Group were NOT in the Med during the Benghazi fight. They were in the Arabian Sea supporting operations in Afghanistan. He got into a pissing contest with the Skipper of his Flagship and lost. If you believe that this is evidence of a purge, let me know and I’ll put you onto some real estate.

MG Baker. Reportedly relieved for groping a civilian. Does anyone, anywhere have any evidence that this was something else? MG (SIC) Valley’s opinion doesn’t count.

BG Roberts. Obama is going to purge a Black Guy? Get serious. Adultery is a military offense and highly frowned upon when you are the commander of the biggest training center in the Army.

MGen Sturdevant. The Taliban managed to destroy an entire squadron of irreplaceable AV-8B Harrier jets. This guy took the fall. Probably not a purge event.

MGen Gurganus. Another relief in the Taliban attack. See above. Please provide any information that would suggest a purge.

LTG Huntoon. This seems to be a case of abuse of power and position involving his wife and his ego. Unfortunately, this sort of thing happens when some people get into positions of power. I’ve yet to see any evidence to suggest anything else.

VADM Giardina. Timbo was apparently visiting the casinos just across the Missouri and got caught passing some bogus casino chips. I’m sure that there is more to it, and I suspect that he was a frequent gambler, probably in debt, and involved with some shady characters. Purge? Maybe, but probably not.

MG Carey. MG Carey commanded all of the Strategic nuclear forces of the United States Air Force. Nuclear Trigger guy. He seems to have a probably with the bottle. If true, certainly should have been relieved. I’ve yet to see anything to indicate that the bottle story isn’t true. Has anyone else?

So, there we go. That’s all they got. 900 plus General and Flag officers and here is the evidence of the purge. Pretty sorry purge, in my opinion. Even Kathleen Sebelius could do better than this.

Does anyone believe this nonsense? Speak up and show us how clueless you are. I promise not to make fun of you, although I will admit that I have done it on earlier threads. I have mended my ways.
