Every day, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services hosts a phone call with reporters. This is the "Operational Update on the Health Insurance Marketplace" and usually happens around 1:30 or 2 p.m.
Today's "Operational Update on the Health Insurance Marketplace" was not especially good news: As capacity problems at the start of HealthCare.gov get fixed, tech workers are finding new capacity problems later in the application process -- ones that, up until now, they didn't know about.

This is typical of this type of problem. If users can only get to step A, naturally they’ll never find the bugs in Steps X, Y, and Z.

In Senate testimony Sebelius gave that rationale for keeping the insecure system up == that way, they can find more bugs!
Meanwhile they are “testing” whith not test files, but personal data of real people. SHAME!
Maybe the announcement will be that they have to completely get rid of the grossly overpriced software they used and completely replace it. If so, then the website is at least MONTHS away from being up and running.

Correct. Lower the tide and you find a whole new set of shoreline disasters. It’s the nature of software debugging. This is going to be fun.
Twenty years ago I was given the job of trying to “break” a a new disbursing system. Think of any assortment of things people could try on the screen and try to lock up the system or at least the screen. As you guys know, the more complicated the system the more this needs to be done. And people can do some really stupid things to boot (no pun intended).

It is a violation of much more than that. Why won’t someone pull the plug on this abomination?
They brought in “gurus” from Google, RedHat, and Oracle.
Because every foundering software megaproject needs a few more big ego generals to inspire the troops.

YES! But one does it months in advance with test data! These incompetents went live and are using real people to test their monstrous softare. No where else except in the O Administration could this be accepted. It violates probably dozens of laws and regulations, not to mention the professional standards of the software community. This is SO RIDICULOUSLY PATHETIC I cannot understand at all, that after more than a month, no one with any sense, or sense of responsibility, could have shut it down!
In hearings they have good rationale and comments and ASK Sebelius to shut it down. Dam** that! Shut it down!
The website is the least of my worries. This is only the tip of the iceberg. Mismanagement, corruption death panels, etc. I hope the website never gets fixed.
