Its never a good idea knocking on doors at 2AM. If you do, look for a house with the lights on and be calm.
Good point. At that hour, I answer the door armed and with suspicious expectations at least. I expect something bad and don't like where it is going. It might not take much to be pushed into fear of life.
Also, what was she doing out at 2:30AM? I too am not taking sides yet as I doubt all the details are out there or accurate.

I do not answer the door if I don’t clearly know who’s knocking and do want them inside my home. If one is truly ‘lost’ at that time, do not rely on the kindness of strangers at that hour. Get to a police department or hospital or firestation. Otherwise, you are making a target out of yourself. 2.30am is working hours for the out of town faceless crook.
New reports are all over the place. Police stated that the
accident happened at about 1:30 a.m and the shooting 3:40 a.m.
Her family is also falsely stating that she was shot in the back of her head as she was leaving.
