That’s the way I saw George Zimmerman right after I read the first story. My position changed, however.
Years ago I was in an auto accident and walked into a nearby business for help. Everyone inside the business screamed and ran away. I was kind of dazed and didn’t realize I was covered in blood. I must have been quite a sight.
Oh no...not again.
About two weeks ago, not too far from where I live, in a developing rural and mostly affluent area, two hispanic women knocked on a door. I am not sure under what guise.
When the homeowner answered, they forced their way in. Wrestled her to the ground, tied her up, beat her and abused her verbally as they ransacked her house. Then they left. As far as I know, they were never caught.
A cop in Charlotte a few weeks back pumped 10 rounds (IIRC) into a guy that was in a wreck looking for help.
How does someone knocking on your door warrant opening up your door and shooting that person? A cop can’t do that. unlocking your door, leaving the safety of your house and shooting someone in your yard is making yourself MORE vulnerable. The person not even pointing a weapon or even carrying a weapon. cops can’t do that stuff! Why do people think it’s perfectly okay for citizens to act willy nilly with their guns and shoot without being in any danger.
I was really outraged at that story of homeowner who had 15 partying at clubs. girl came complaining rivals followed her home and dad should do something about it. He says he heard gunfire. instead of hiding for safety so not to get hit by bullets, he gets a gun starts shooting randomly into the street, hitting innocent bystander! A cop couldn’t get away with that.
It’s a common tactic of a lot of home invaders. They use an attractive woman or an older woman to try to get the homeowner to open the door, and when it’s opened, the attackers strongarm their way into the house.
I don’t open the door for anyone I don’t know, esp. if it’s law enforcement!
The police do it:

It's so ridiculous that it's come to this.
I didn’t see your post and I posted a link to the same story. May be that some think it’s OK if a cop does it because they are trained to make better decisions concerning their own safety.

Liberals fault. If it wasn’t for liberals and their corrupt political machine the city wouldn’t have the majority of it’s residents sitting at home expecting to get mugged, raped, robbed, killed or just otherwise tortured by this generation of black youths.
Still, it sounds like the shooting is uncalled for. Trigger happy and scared out of their mind citizens.
But let’s wait until the tox screens and rap sheet come back before making final judgement.

I don't open the door for anyone unless I know them, or am positive that they are not a threat. I'll be glad to call 911 for anyone, but I will not open my door.
Oh, I’ll talk to them through the door or a nearby window, but they’re not getting the door open.
In my area we’ve had several incidents where a Latina knocks at the front door under some nonsecial pretense and keeps the homeowner (usually elderly) talking while an accomplie breaks in the back and burglarizes the home (without ever confronting the homeowner). The victims would only realize what had happened when they left the front and found the rear door forced open...
as soon as I saw “Detroit” I stopped because home invasions are probably very common.
