All the more reason to suspect voter/election fraud.
It is not logical for voters to vote for a conservative for AG and a raving liberal for governor. The two votes should be virtually equal.
There were 2,235,284 votes cast in the Governor's race with the following results:
Cuccinelli--1,011,377
McAwful-- 1,067,114
Sarvis--145,773
Write-in--11,020
There were three main candidates in the Governor's race, but only two in the AG race, which had 2,205,892 voters broken down as follows:
Herring (D): 1,100,119
Obenshain: 1,100,800
Write-in: 4,973
As you can see, about 30,000 more voted in the governor's race than the AG race, but both AG candidates got more than Cuccinelli and McAwful. Obviously, the Sarvis voters split their votes among the AG candidates. It is not unusual for voters not to vote in all of the races or they could have just overlooked a race.
Voter fraud is not what gave McAwful the victory. VA is a purple state trending blue. The demographics of the state are changing rapidly. Within a decade VA will be solid blue--at least at the state level.
Not true.. The governor’s race had three candidates and the AG one had two. Also, voters have the option of not voting at all in any particular race.
Counterpoint: People aren’t logical. It happens.
