No, it means that VA has enough Big Government parasites living in Fairfax Co. to rule VA until the entire system collapses, and they begin starving to death.

That may take twenty years, so people with an ounce of sense and some money left in the bank better make their break out of the state pronto.

Pretty good summary. It was one of the few places in the country where real estate stayed high, but only within 12 or so miles of DC. Outside of there prices fell from ridiculous to just plain overpriced. A country whose largest industry is manufacturing hamburger patties cannot afford to keep 100's of thousands of people employed around the capitol forever. Sooner or later the Fed-enabled borrow and spend madness will end and a lot of office buildings will empty out followed by neighborhoods.

I believe the barrios in Herndon will find a way to stay fed even if they have to loot the Harris Teeter (which is not well defended). The problem will be the paper pushers who will drive the SUV to the grocery store only to lose the car (and keep their life if they are lucky).

30% of the residents of Fairfax County are foreign-born compared to 15% in 1990. In addition to the huge increase in immigrants, a large infusion of outsiders mainly from the Northeast, have flocked to the VA suburbs of DC to feed at the public trough. Think tanks, lobbyists, and government contractors have changed the political dynamic along with a large population of government employers. The biggest single employer in Fairfax County is the public school system with 22,852 employees (2010 figures). The unemployment rate in Fairfax County is around 4%.

Similar numbers exist in other counties and cities in NoVa. It is also worth remembering that 20% of the population of VA is black. The bottom line is that if the Dems turnout they win. And they are getting better and better at turning out their voters.
