"We are at war."

Yes we are. Some say the best tactic is to take over the GOP. Others that a new party is needed. The take over the GOP approach is tempting since it's doable and unlike a starting a new party a proven workable solution. But I am leaning towards the start a new party. Mainly because I think there are a lot of fed up democrats out there that might join us in a new party that would never vote GOP no matter how fed up they are. And secondly because I don't think it will be possible to get the corrupt establishment completely out of the GOP. I present Alaska's GOP as evidence.

"It’s main street against the marxists and crony “capitalists”.

The beauty of what Ted Cruz did, genius I call it, was to lay out the cronyism out for all to see. He knew the defund would not pass and he knew all would see the establishment has no pants on, it's underwear is thread bare! Good job Ted!

Primaries are the ONLY reason I keep my “R” registration as we have closed primaries. And one of the few opportunities we have in Pa. to select Good candidates to run against the GOP fair haired boys that they pick.

Case in point, even though he lost the first primary in 2004: My vote then went for Pat Toomey, even though the GOP was pushing Snarlin Arlen Specter...who pulled off a squeaker win via the Rove machine. Then Specter switched parties and was the swing vote on 0bamacare. We finally got Toomey over the hump to beat that idiot and Clinton operative Sestak.

We HAVE to fight the GOP at the primary level.

Last election, my vote went to Sam Rohrer, even though the GOPe was pushing for Welch...it was a nasty primary...Welch lost but Tom Smith won (A nice man..but very weak skills.) Rohrer beat Welch...but not enough to overcome Smith. And we know how that worked out with the Casey machine at work in Scranton, etc.

I understand. I am still a registered ‘R’ for the very same reason.

Having said that, I will never again vote the lesser of two evils. Evil is evil regardless of degree. I refuse to vote for any candidate that the GOP enthusiastically supports.

I do not - and will not - donate dollars or time to the GOP and as soon as a viable alternative exists (Tea Party, Conservative Party), I will switch parties.

Great plan.

Loved your little picture, but that is not the reality.

The GOP is Liberal. Their Candidates are Liberal. We spite ourselves by voting for them - they are LIBERALS.

They are where conservatives can make a difference.
We must stop open primaries.

You’ll learn.

Learn that obama is better for the USA than Mittens would have been? I don't give a fat rat's ass how bad romney might have been, it wouldn't amount to a pimple on an elephant's butt, in terms of damage to the USA.

No one will ever convince me that obama is better than romney, which is the line of crap you purists are touting. NO F'en WAY.

Great plan.

The problem with being a "good soldier" and voting for the rino in order to get the majority is when something conservative comes up the rino's find a way to avoid supporting it. Why keep supporting those that won't fight for you?

Did we get a conservative SCOTUS?

Did we stop obamacare?

Are they trying to stop obamacare?

Did we get unborn babies or marriage defended?

The answer to all of the above is NO! So why vote for people who won't fight for you.

Ref. Your Post #31: I used to feel the same way but, no longer. If the woman you trust to be faithful to you is in bed with the guy across the aisle....oops I mean the guy next door....and makes it plain she doesn’t want you anymore; don’t be a cuckold. Eventually you have to grow a pair and ditch the slut.

We spite ourselves by not voting and helping obama or terri the punk get elected.

Hey Kitten, I'm in my 70's, and have enough money to relax and enjoy life regardless of which bunch is in office.

For me, I could care less, but I do have progeny and those poor kids are going to get hammered because of the purists that sat on their butts and rebelled against the gop candidate, because they weren't_____enough {fill in the blank}.

If you sat out an election because your guy/gal wasn't picked and obama got in, you also share the blame for the crap that he does.

I voted for Romney. I donated dollars. I donated time. I pushed a lot of people to go vote. What did I see?

Ted Cruz and House conservatives stood up and fought to defund, or delay obamacare and the GOP-e cut them off at the knees right from the start. On top of that, in the final CR 87 pubs voted for a clean bill rather than require Congress and their staffs to live under obamacare.

No more, I will not support a party that passes laws imposed on me that they exempt themselves from.

I'm 57. I have never sat out an election nor am I a one issue voter. I've held my nose and voted for the RINO plenty of times.

Now. Tell me where that got us.

Tell me how that kept liberals from taking over.

You can't because it didn't happen.

If not for the GOP and their **cough** purist, no conservatives allowed stance, Cucinelli would be in the Senate today.

Go ahead and vote for the RINO of your choice, go ahead and vote with the GOP. I'm sure your progeny will live a much better life believing that the GOP really aren't Socialists...

I have worked for the local GOP for years. I held my nose and supported Romney even down to placing signs all night before the election. I was a state delegate when GWB was appointed as well. I can pretty much say I am the grassroots.

I also registered as independent a few years ago. the reason is simple: no politics are local. The national GOP is the epitome of everything they swear to revile.

Everyone can pile on as much as you want, but there are only two possibilities: the GOP is beyond incompetent or they are completely corrupt. Either way, you are a fool or a traitor to support the national party.

Most of the conservative base has followed your line of logic since 1988. How has that worked out for us?

On the other hand the GOPe is perfectly content to see any democrat win rather than support a conservative Republican candidate.

Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result, well you know how that saying goes...

You are being played by the liberals of the GOP. As posted already, you will learn perhaps.

The Democratcare bill arrived in the mail and self preservation is kicking in for them.<<

A good mugging is the only way to turn a low-information voter around...No offense against soccer Moms...but they've just been mugged and know it ‘cause the balance the check book!
