I feel I'm being rebuked but I'm too dumb to understand how or why. Are there any viable options here or not?

Ideally our side once seceding should make sure we don't attack THEIR "Fort Sumter".

However If our side isn't willing to defend OUR "Fort Sumter" once the feds attack, then conservatives deserve the slave status they get.
