Top Democratic officials launched a concerted offensive Wednesday to define New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie in a negative light, believing that he has emerged from his reelection landslide as the Republican Partys strongest potential presidential contender for 2016.
Democratic strategist Steve Murphy said Christie is the strongest candidate for Republicans against former secretary of state Hillary Rodham Clinton, who will be the overwhelming favorite for the Democratic nomination if she chooses to run. He said Democrats would be wise to highlight Christies conservatism on economic issues.

This thread is about Dems promoting Christie as a candidate.
I never said he announced
Must have struck a real nerve.
I cant figure out what you are getting at.
He beat a Dem in NJ. Good!
Why did the GOP spend money in NJ on this race, neglecting a very important possible win in VA, and possibly locking that in 2016, where NJ while never go republican in 2016?
A loudmouth whiner about Christie at a book signing I went to this evening must have been watching TV all afternoon. “Why do people call him a moderate?!!! He’s an extreme conservative!!!” They get their talking points straight pretty fast.
The author kept trying to point out that he had some positions that were moderate, but she kept interrupting him. Typical West Side nut.
Not to pick Christie as 2016 candidate now.
That's still years away and lots of stuff happened recently like GOP big $$$ was peed over shutdown.
2014 politics is more likely.
Ann will not support him, because of amnesty.
2014? What race, specifically?
You are ignoring one eternal verity. It goes like this:
They all want to be president.
cornyn is running in Texas already with ads for 2014 as a conservative.
GOP has figured out it’s important to claim conservatism but DO whatever, most importantly, go along with the uniparty of extortionists.
The MSM is happy to play along. they always turn on the republican - conservative or not- they sure don’t know the difference.
Because they don’t support tea party candidates. As part of the rift within the GOP. Didn’t support Lonegan either. Fine. They lost both. But Priebus balanced the RNC budget, don’t forget that.
Everything is not as simple as an A vs B narrative like talk radio presents.
I know Rush, Hannity and Levin are telling you this stuff. They create this simple world for listeners.
If the GOPe forces Tea party to spend THEIR OWN money defending their candidates like in VA in the general election (by not helping them with theirs), then they (Tea party) have less money to use in 2014 GOP primaries, ie US Senate races.
Think back to 2010.
The simpleton talk radio narratives was :
“Everyone KNOWS the 2012 race is between Romney and Palin”
Well it wasnt.
And why would the GOP be doing that?
Levin is a simpleton? By what standard?
You of Course mean senators right?
Hee hee ; )
What ever
Rift? The GOP represents none of it’s voters. they run as GOP and then go to work independently. they resent the Tea party candidates for wanting to work to represent the voters and defend the constitution.
If that’s a rift, then the GOP has some kind of character and integrity unbeknownst to most.
“True conservative candidates always beat Dems no matter where the race is, as long as the dastardly GOPE pays for their campaigns. So we must get rid of them(GOPe), even though we need them for their $$$, Drat I am outraged!”
They trapped themselves in that one.
Talk radio works for those with a very short memory.
