It’s now 4.2M.

An expected to go to 12-15 million.

And, when the employer mandate kicks in next year, another 93 million policies will be cancelled.

if we have to bail out the insurers it will be a one time event. If Obamacare continues it is a recurring forever event.

You’re right. We’ve spent a lot more on wars, the losing of which probably wouldn’t have done as much damage as keeping MahdiCare will. WWI is a great example. Best to bite the bullet, print the money, and do what has to be done ASAP.

I think this is about getting as many of those that have either no insurance or low income so they can get on the dole and we can pay for them for life. They could care less about the rest of us. They would rather we paid the fines.

. . . and will those signing up for new policies, or for Medicaid, get to keep them? This is a prescription for disaster all the way around! Fasten your seat belt. It’s gonna be a bumpy ride.

Yes, yes, yes...they are now a ‘progressive’ city.

It made my stomach turn at 3am when I heard that obnoxious announcement.

What I mean by using their own words when talking to them means starting to redefine their own words. But, you and I know it really isn’t redefining them, but forcing the definition onto them and their myths.

To the shouts and howls of those on FR, sustainability, is actually a very conservative concept. I start out with many of these progressive folks tossing an often overlooked line from Atlas Shrugged at them from The Money Speech.

“An honest man is one who knows that he can’t consume more than he has produced.”

Why? Why that line in particular? First many don’t recognize it as coming from Atlas Shrugged or Ayn Rand. Second what is their definition of ‘sustainability?’ What grand concept here is (another of their words)co-equal?

Challenge them in their arena of understanding the natural order of things. If they planted a money tree, how would they make sure it would grow and flourish? As conservatives, we know money doesn’t grow on trees...but speak to them in terms and parables they understand. How would the organically grow that money tree? What happens when you overharvest the most productive tree? What of parasites, blights, and molds that come to feast on the fruits of your labor?

To destroy their myths about economics/money, one must teach them in parables and allegories they can understand. Lectures and battles of statist/elitist wits won’t win their mind or change their minds. Jesus taught us that by his use of parables to communicate God’s concepts.

To spout off at them Proverbs 13:22 they won’t grasp the idea that it is not a Proverb of greed, but one of sustainability. Like the legacy of the ‘earth’ they so desire to be left for future generations, so too should that same concept be applied to a prosperous Nation.

Like the mustard seed that falls on poor soil, rocks, or the path...the money tree won’t grow for all the same reasons.

“Patching up the mistakes” will presumably require some legislation. In which case, the Republican House will have to sign onto “fixing Obamacare”. The Question for the Day is: Will they?

I believe they will forced to. Since no one is discussing repeal (which is the only solution) the GOP will be forced to acquiesce to the bandaid approach. Failure to do so turns the media back against them and lets the Marxist off the hook.

The Republican leadership will likely find themselves trapped again.

But, I wonder, just how many voters are anxious to "fix" Obamacare now? As against how many would favor a return to the status quo ante?

I believe an obstinate stand for "full repeal" might be the most productive stance. Let the President and the 'Rat Senators bear the consequences of their actions...
