WASHINGTON (AP) — The Obama administration appears ready to give some labor unions a break from costly fees under the new health care law, a move that drew criticism from Republicans who say it unfairly favors a key White House ally.
In regulations published last week, the administration said it intends to propose rules that would exempt "certain self-insured, self-administered plans" from the requirement to pay the fees in 2015 and 2016.
Labor unions have spent months complaining the new law will drive up the costs of certain health plans that are jointly administered by unions and smaller employers.

I’m sorry, but when did laws passed by our Legislature allow opt outs as specified by the President? Something is very wrong here...
He has not the power or authority to do anything about laws passed by the Congress! That also included selective enforcement of laws by the Justice Department!
It’s disgusting ... not Obama, heck we’re getting used to that and expect it, but It’s disgusting how little fight the GOP has on this issue.
Impeachment is not limited to President. Can’t Cabinet level appointees be impeached too?

Guess the Unions want a belt and braces cast iron duplex exemption.
I seem to recall the UAW got a carveout when the law was written.

You’re right of course! The GOP has gone alone with this due to so called popular opinion instead of standing up for principle - that would be a real change!
Does that mean that we have nobody to stand up for the people anymore? Unfortunately, I think that is the case unless and until another party forms...
We have Democrats and Democrats light unfortunately! Who to vote for. Maybe none of the above is the right choice these days.
