Former VA Governor Wilder said today that Cuccinelli is the new Lazarus in that he came back from the dead. Wilder claimed being outspent 15-1 in the last month of the campaign and still come up less than 2% short was, in political terms, nothing short of remarkable. He has a point. The GOP left him for dead, and he nearly survived despite that. All of McAuliffe’s ads were run by his support groups and not the DNC, which is nearly broke. So the real question is: where were the support groups buying ads to attack McCauliffe? Where were all of the right leaning Super PAC’s lining up to help Cuccinelli?? Makes you wonder.
How odd to find myself in agreement (largely) with Frank Rich. Nevertheless I think he is quite correct here, esp. on Christie and the GOP-E and also on Cuccinelli.
