One was a gourmet food broker who landed work as an $85,000-a-year financial analyst at the Port Authority. Another got a $90,000 job to check maintenance contracts. An author and actor was hired as the employment publications editor a three-day-a-week gig that pays $50,000 and provides full benefits.
What they had in common like dozens of others hired by the bi-state agency over the past two years were ties to Governor Christie's administration, which has recommended 50 people for positions at the agency since it took control of Trenton in 2010, records show.
Together, the jobs pay about $4 million in annual salaries.

Dominick Fiorilli, a former chief of staff to Republican state Sen. Kevin J. O'Toole, a Christie ally, is a $95,000-a-year assistant director of new port initiatives at the authority. Fiorilli, who could not be reached, was the regional campaign manager for U.S. Sen. John McCain during his presidential run in 2008. Fiorilli joined another McCain campaign aide referred to the Port Authority, Jamie Loftus, now the $165,000-a-year chief of public and government affairs.

I’m soooooooooooooo shocked.
Political patronage jobs,possibly the second oldest profession and certainly less honorable than the first.
Just because you have an “R” after your name on the ballot doesn’t mean you can’t be a good organized crime boss.
I’m just surprised that people think politicians are not going to fill positions. Not appoint those who have supported them? Why would they do that? Makes no sense.
