The Betrayal of Ken Cuccinelli
National Review ^ | 11/5/13 | Maggie Gallagher

Posted on 11/06/2013 6:54:56 AM PST by cotton1706

They said he was “unelectable.” The RNC put only $3 million into this race. Ken was outspent by a margin of something between 4:1 and 10:1, if you believe the Associated Press.

The Democrats poured everything into trying to lie to voters and portray Cuccinelli as an extremist — and they barely pulled this one out.

Would another $3 million have swung 50,000 votes? The Republicans, starting with Bill Bolling, who undercut Cuccinelli as unelectable have egg all over their faces.

This was a winnable election. How did we give this away to Terry McAuliffe? Some serious soul-searching should be taking place among the anti-tea-party faction.

Conservatives better wake up. Results are the only thing that matters.

Eric Cantor and the rest of the GOP establishment would rather have a Team Clinton Dem than a conservative in VA. They got the result they wanted.

“Whenever I used to think GOP, the first mental imagery that came to mind for me was warmly comfortable visage of Ronald Reagan. For decades. But in the past few years, after seeing the GOP’s backstabbing treatment given Palin and the tea party, coupled with the Party’s constant betrayals on everything from amnesty to family values, that first mental imagery has been replaced by a knife in a human backside.

This is just further perpetuated by the VA race.”
*******************************************************************
I do wish that folks would stop conflating the GOPe (the GOP “establishment” — meaning the folks currently dominating the national party leadership such as the RNC and their supporters) with the GOP itself. There are MANY, MANY true conservative Republicans. There are many conservative Republican leaders at the State & local levels (e.g., the many South Carolina county GOP organizations who are coming out and condemning Little Lindsey Gramnesty and who will be playing a large role in ousting the despicable creature next year). We need to take back control of the Republican party AT ALL LEVELS.

Don’t give up on the Republican Party, that’s EXACTLY what the progressives want us to do. But what we should do is support only true conservative Republicans.

They are worse. At least you know what you are getting with the Dems.

The face of betrayal. The gOp is the Scottish lord who betrayed William Wallace in Braveheart.

We need to personalize this and name names like the Alinskites do. Priebus, Cantor, Jindal, etc. screwed the pooch in VA.

The only question for the RNC now should be: who is going to get fired for this cluster in VA? The problem is nobody ever gets fired in the GOP for incompetence. It’s the same GOPe losers running the same loser tip toe strategies.

McAweful won by 2pts. The libertarian candidate received 6pts.

I would be willing to bet that the McAuliffe campaign gave more money to the Libertarian candidate than the GOP gave to Cuccinelli.

Except that Braveheart is full of misinformation, including the slur against the father of Robert the Bruce (the character depicted in that photo). The Bruce didn’t betray Wallace, his father didn’t have leprosy and he didn’t persuade The Bruce to go against Wallace. John Monteith was the real Scottish noble who betrayed Wallace. There were plenty of self-serving Scottish nobles who sold out Scotland for their own purposes but Robert the Bruce wasn’t one of them.

Do NOT give even one penny to the RNC. When they send you prepaid return envelopes in their solicitations, return those empty to them
__
LOL- back when,I used to send them my precious marlboro miles and they eventually took me off their mailing list.
If I were still receiving them, I’d stuff the envelopes with tea labels.

Do NOT give even one penny to the RNC. When they send you prepaid return envelopes in their solicitations, return those with a tea bag in them. I think they will get
the message.

Disclaimer, sending substances through the mail may
lead to fines, imprisonment, the death penalty, and
most certainly an anal exam.

Ok, send them the end flap from a tea box or the little
tag that comes on the bag.

Libertarians split out two ways. Liberal, and Conservative. Without the L in the race, the percentages wouldn’t change much.

In fact, in this race... The polling data I’ve seen suggests that the McAuliffe would have garnered more votes with out Sarvis stealing some of his votes.

No. This was the GOP-e’s to win if they had the balls.

They didn’t want this win. It would have given the TEA Party too much momentum going in to next year. The GOP-e insiders can’t have that...
