Some on the Left have been noting with pleasure that advocates on the Right have now dropped calls to repeal the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, whose affordable nature is called into question and whose protection most patients attempt to avoid.
Theyre right. But why shouldnt they, when the act, with its built-in store of perverse incentives, has done so well at repealing itself?
The act is being repealed, piece by piece and in increments, by courts, by circumstance and by its own incoherence.
Last week, the website shut down for still more repair work, a court threw out the mandate that forced business owners to pay for employees access to abortion facilities, and the 16 or so million people who buy their own health plans, who found their coverage ended or the prices increased, found their voice as a mad-as-hell pressure group.
President Obama thought hed be home free when new enrollees began receiving government benefits; he forgot he created a huge pool of losers prosperous, articulate and including some journalists who know how to pressure the government.
In one week, this settled law got a lot more unsettled. Obama, wrote Jules Witcover in the Baltimore Sun, faces the prospect of spending the rest of his second term distracted by the imperative of defending the law all over again, amid evidence that Republican warnings of its impracticability were not all partisan ranting.
Just as the Nixon tapes ... kept alive the Watergate calamity ... Obamacare seems destined to haunt its parent throughout his White House tenure and beyond.

2014 will be a boom year for the TP movement.
“President Obama thought hed be home free when new enrollees began receiving government benefits; he forgot he created a huge pool of losers prosperous, articulate and including some journalists who know how to pressure the government.”
I wrote my two US Senators, one a Republican and one a Democrat about the cancellation of my $5000 deductible policy and its replacement with a $6250 deductible policy with a 71% premium increase.
My Republican Senator Burr sent me a very nice form letter in response thanking me for my letter regarding the administration’s Syria policy. I kid you not. Burr was one of the RINO senators who would not stand with Ted Cruz.
I’m still waiting to hear from my Democrat Senator Kay Hagan who voted for Obamacare and is standing for reelection in 2014. Perhaps she remaining silent and hoping the storm will blow over before she has to campaign next year.
With representation like this, how could the situation possibly get better?
Well we pray that is correct Biggirl. Right now though the big cabal of the liars, deceivers, morons, Turd World imports, Unions, leeches, godless, socialists, feminists, hack leftists and haters of truth are a huge voting block at this time.
Not as big as you think.
Cuccinelli’s narrow loss despite the dirty tricks, the shady money, the RINO betrayers and all the government hacks and Julias in NoVA proves that America really DOESN’T hate the Tea Party afterall.
Every one of those vulnerable Democrats will vote in lock step with the party if hey are returned.
They may be knocking oBamacare now , but they will vote for it when they return.
You got it!
We have a winner!
Thank-you for making my day!
You might consider writing to your local newspapers' editorial/opinion pages, and describe your situation. I'll bet those Senate offices are monitoring what's being said in the papers.
Gee, didn't you get the memo that the TP is dead?sarc/
Among my acquaintances it isn't, its stronger than ever
Yep they are all Joe Machins. Vote for the most liberal stuff whenever the vote is needed and whine when their reelection is on the horizon.
Making people who had insurance buy a different product that costs more for less coverage?
Liberal-frickin-"logic"
