Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius testifies before the Senate Finance Committee on the federal insurance exchange website and other issues related to the Affordable Care Act.
Her testimony comes exactly one week after she appeared before the House Energy and Commerce Committee where she apologized to the public for what she called the "debacle." Secretary Sebelius and other administration officials have said that problems with the healthcare.gov website will be fixed by the end of this month.
During her testimony today, she talks about the progress being made in that effort. Sen. Max Baucus (D-MT) chairs the committee while Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-UT) serves as the ranking member.
She was not even under oath. : (
Sorry, I meant that he was speaking without Saxby in the room. The guy doesn’t even vote present without Saxby doing so first. For example, they both voted “present” for debt ceiling cloture last month.
He will not even put out a statement without Saxby.
3 hours - skip to 25 min 55 sec and that’s when the hearing beings.

Yes — maybe even step back and ask “what was the problem we were trying to solve? Let’s review our progress. “Lets start with increasing the # insured. How is that going? Then we wanted to reduce the cost of health care. Are we doing that? Let’s review”
Think Senator Geary in Godfather 2 giving a speech at a congressional hearing on the Mafia about how wonderful Italian heritage Americans are from Columbus to Fermi.

BUMP BUMP BUMP BUMP!
I saw the entire hearing, and was impressed at the time; but when this is posted as it occurred, it is absolutely damning. Thank you so much for posting it.
Thank you thank you thank you
BUMP BUMP BUMP
This has to hit the news somewhere. AWESOME!
And he is from her OWN state of Kansas.
THANKS! BUMP!
Here’s another one - need to look for this press conference, perhaps an article??
Thune states at 1:17 in the video
On June 14, 2010 Sebelius held press conference regarding the grandfather rule.

Thune at Finance to Sebelius: You’ve Been Misleading the American People

“press conference, perhaps an article”
Absolutely! cuts to the crux of the matter.
Perhaps a federal injunction, perhaps legislation.
Thune did well. Sebelius blabbed. Blathered.
Thanks for posting this segment!
The hearing as a whole, which I watched, is not as dramatic as the specific cuts.
Yes, this cut needs to be promoted, as well as others.
Seruvs, and thanks!
Ms. Sebelius, if I asked you if wanted a cup of coffee and you said “No”, then I asked “How about some coffee with sugar?” and you said “NO”, then I asked “Would you like some coffee if I put cream in it” and you said “No, I don’t want any coffee. Period.” What would you mean by that?

Sebelius in 2010: If You Have Insurance That You Like, Youll Get to Keep It
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-bloggers/3087368/posts
The very last question from the press asked, On the grandfathered plans, what sort of flexibility will they have to change the deductible or co-payment or a benefit and retain that status?
This was Sebeliuss response (emphasis mine):
Uh, clearly that, um, regulation is not finalized, but I think the that the goal is to, um, you know, live up to the the Presidents commitment that if you have a plan that you like, youll get to keep it. Uh, and how that balances with some of the new consumer protections and how broadly to draw that regulation is currently whats, you know, being debated.
We should have a final reg out in the not-too-distant future. But, uh, that debate is, is very much underway. But the goal is not to have, um, the market disrupted, uh, because of the new law, but to actually, um, you know, have the gradual implementation until we get to the new marketplace.
There was no, the President needs to clarify his statement about your insurance. There was no, President Obama didnt mean that you get to keep your plan. It was, point blank, his commitment to the American people that they could keep their insurance. And Sebelius was happy to be there, parroting the Presidents lies.
Here is the entire presser. The question comes in at 28:37:
Implementing the New Health Reform Law (05/27/2010 Press Conference)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7fEo8iIgkXs
“gradual implementation until we get to the new marketplace”
How Orwellian! If not Orwellian (fiction) because it has actually happened in fact.
It means — he lied, she lied, because the “gradual implementation”
. . . is like the German farmers in Russia [who came there at the invitation of Cath the Great in order to enhance food production] being declared . . . Kulaks . . . being declared as . . . people who worked for a living — who were to be squeezed out, starved. Because they could work for a living and produce and therefore were independent; therefore they had to be starved to death.
Sebelius and this admin. are starving the private market which can and did provide actual insurance. Meaning: insurance against insurable risks.

I agree - all intentional, planned and delivered - it was outlined by conservatives - the plan was to eliminate the insurance market. The insurers were in “negotiations” with the White House and deceived themselves.
Your post mentioned food - they have similar plans in the works on that issue in America, but you may already be aware of it.
“here is “
and thanks for keeping track of all of this, to keep informing everyone; over and over; as long as it takes.
I really appreciate it. Servus.
“food - they have similar plans in the works “
I know they plan to control energy; how do they intend to control food?
Oh, the attack on the food started already by a one or two years already with the FDA attack on small local growers on behalf of competing corporate farms.
