Republicans turned back several challenges by Democrats as the GOP retained a solid majority in the Virginia House of Delegates.

Democrat Jeremy McPike narrowly defeated Republican incumbent Scott Lingamfelter in unofficial returns Tuesday, but several other Republicans survived and the GOP kept 10 seats vacated by Republicans.

The RNC spent less than a third on Cooch than they spent in 2009 on the same race in the same state.

The RNC probably deemed him too conservative. Remember the GOPe leaders have declared war on anyone they see as TEA Party.

Well, so be it...
If there was any integrity in the process or, gasp, love and reverence for this process, both sides would work very hard to keep it clean....
A delusional world, yes, but I’ve been in it since 2000 and Klinton....

The RNC did squat for him.

First mistake: assuming everyone on this site is male...pretty libertarian of you.
Second: talk about a “purity” test...you take the cake!
Third: your little lib boy in VA had NO libertarian cred what so ever and was put up and paid for by the dims as a spoiler yet you continue to bleat it’s all
about the lousy (3% points off) republican...
As the Brits like to say, piss off....

A Japanese fellow I knew who managed an operation in California to repackage stuff for export to Japan told me exactly the same thing. In his words, whites could almost keep up with the Asians. Hispanics lagged considerably behind the whites and blacks lagged considerably behind the Hispanics. This plant was near the port of Oakland.

That's not my experience here at the plant where I work. Our black employees are as good as anyone else. But we're getting the cream of the crop because ours have either (a)taken themselves out of the inner city completely or (b)are commuting a long distance therefrom.

IOW, they've rejected typical inner city values.

I started with Reagan(Jesse Helms in 1978 actually). I started noticing these “come from behind” finishes in 2000. I think that is when the Democrats started deploying them in force. Creigh Deeds didn’t win because he didn’t have the big money backing needed to get it done. But now Bloomberg wants to pass new guns laws here and Obama wants Va to increase Medicaid recipients and possibly put state employees into Obamacare. So Big Money Terry got the nod.
I doubt he will serve his whole term. Either Scandal or Hillary will get him.

Sore loser. Those votes sarvis got didn’t belong to the GOP. Your boy didn’t earn them, so he didn’t get them. Now go stomp off to your room to pout.

Good suggestion. But here in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, the GOP leaning precincts seem to take a lot of pride in reporting first. I was looking at the hold-outs last night around 10 p.m. and, sure enough, they were almost all over in the RAT strongholds in the Mon Valley.

No one likes a sore loser. This should be a good character building opportunity for you. You could use it.

again, I consider freepers pretty well read and smart as a group....yet, we had people supporting bamey boy in the last debacle...not voting for the impure pub candidate because he was mormon, or rich, or a rino, or something...

if you can't get freepers on board to dismantle a totalitarian regime, how we going to get the average stupid voter on the street who thinks voting third party is "cool"...???

we're lost because we don't stick together...

The only silver linings in this disaster are that the governor in Virginia is a relatively weak position, its term-limited, and the legislature remains solidly Republican.

It remains to be seen whether the Rats will steal the victory in a recount.

well that is a bright spot, if it holds. otherwise there will not be a statewide Rep officeholder in 4 yrs. another bright spot was Barbara Comstock’s re-election as delegate from McLean. The dems wanted that seat very badly.

And the legislature remains Republican. Without legislative support, McAuliffe won't be able to do too much damage in his four years.

yes, i know he will have to contend with a veto-proof majority, unless he goes the way of Obama and enacts law with the stroke of a pen.

McAuliffe’s top Priorities:

Bloomberg’s gun control measures
Expand Medicaid
Expand Obamacare
Relax abortion standards (no longer need a doctor)
Raise taxes

All of these are DOA in the legislature. TM doesn’t have the gravitas that Kaine and Warner had with Richmond. He’ll be a place holder until Hillary or the cops come to pick him up.

How will the media handle TM’s problems?
