Obama is bubble-wrapped
Washington Post ^ | November 5, 2013 | Dana Milbank,

Posted on 11/06/2013 1:03:26 AM PST by Cincinatus' Wife

".......In a damning account of the Obamacare implementation, my Post colleagues Amy Goldstein and Juliet Eilperin described how Obama rejected pleas from outside experts and even some of his own advisers to bring in people with the expertise to handle the mammoth task; he instead left the project in the care of in-house loyalists. “Three and a half years later, such insularity — in that decision and others that would follow — has emerged as a central factor in the disastrous rollout,” Goldstein and Eilperin reported.

Their report is based in part on a prescient memo sent to the White House in May 2010 by Harvard professor David Cutler, an outside adviser on health-care reform. “I am concerned that the personnel and processes you have in place are not up to the task, and that health reform will be unsuccessful as a result,” he wrote. “My general view is that the early implementation efforts are far short of what it will take to implement reform successfully. . . . I do not believe the relevant members of the administration understand the president’s vision or have the capability to carry it out.”

Cutler identified many of the problems that would later plague the Obamacare rollout: The perception of secrecy, the lack of qualified personnel and the likelihood that “if you cannot find a way to work with hesitant states and insurers, reform will blow up.”

Instead, Obama followed a different governing philosophy: Dance with the one that brung ya. He figured that those who helped him enact the health-care law should be the ones to implement it........."

We need to keep pounding away. Even some of his most hard-core supports are starting to run for cover.

For conservatives, this is a very good example to point out to others why liberal/progressive big government ideology is a failure.

After spending hundreds of millions of dollars, three years, and the full resources of the Fed gov, they could not even set up a website that is even somewhat functional. Even a small business on a tight budget can set up a functioning website these days. How well do you think they are going to run a complex healthcare system, where the very health and well-being of a lot of people are at stake?

The new big government system has resulted in cancelled policies, and far higher costs for a lot of people. Instead of insuring people, it has left people without any insurance. On top of this, people have far less choices when it comes to health insurance. It is an absurd system that offers ridiculous items like maternity care for men. This is big government solution in action.

Then there is the question of security or personal information. If a private insurer had been negligent in securing the data of their customers, these customers could sue that insurer. What kind of recourse do you have with this government?? Again, big government solution in action.

They don’t have a product or a service - they just want your $$$$ - Obamacare is a vacuum hose attached to your wallet and a lock on your life, where BIG government can instruct you what you can and can’t do about EVERYTHING - as it ALL ties back to your “health.” IRS is in charge. NSA is watching and listening.

So, Dana, has the opposition “let it implode” enough yet? Is it okay with you if they act to oppose it yet? Oct 1 was apparently too soon for you. Is now ok?

Or should they just complain about it, like you, til the end of time, or until they allow Obama to get un-insulated and “cure the ills” (cute) of Maobamacare, since apparently he won the only election that ever mattered.

The only thing the staffers (who actually wrote the bill) brought to the table was their insatiable desire for control.

We need to keep pounding away. Even some of his most hard-core supports are starting to run for cover.

You got that right.

Chris Frates, CNN's investigative correspondent, reported: "Three years ago, Senate Democrats voted unanimously to support the self-same ObamaCare rule that is largely responsible for some of the health insurance cancellation letters now going out to irate policyholders"....every Democrat voted against Wyoming Republican Mike Enzi's bill to protect policyholders from the ruinous effects of Obamacare that we are seeing now.

ACTION NOW........get a summary of Republican Enzi's pro-policyholder amendment, with a list of EVERY SINGLE DEMOCRAT who voted against protecting policyholders. Use the blockbuster info in upcoming elections....in letters to the editor, ads, fliers, bumper stickers, lawn signs, etc..........

=======================================

THEY CAN RUN--BUT THEY CANT HIDE---The O/Care debacle is looking more and more like the 1992 House check-kiting scandal. Even w/ a strenuous political cover-up, 11 of the 22 kiters--even in safe seats--were tossed out by angry constituents (cackle).

Democrat enablers Scramble to Distance Themselves from Obamacare (RATS want a refund)
Breitbart | 10/30/13 | Wynton Hall / FR Posted November 01 by Libloather

**SNIP** Other Democrats now say they agree with Republicans that a delay of the individual mandate may be the only way to salvage the disaster and save face. "I think the administration is going to have to look at it [delay of the individual mandate]. and I'd encourage them to do so," said Rep. Gene Green (D-TX).

Five Democrats have now asked for the Obama Administration to seek a refund from the contractors responsible for the Obamacare website fiasco.

GUILTY CONSCIENCES FROM VOTING FOR O/CARE? Reps. Ron Barber (D-AZ), William Enyart (D-IL), Pete Gallego (D-TX), Kyrsten Sinema (D-AZ), and Filemon Vela (D-TX) wrote a letter to Attorney General Eric Holder urging the reimbursement effort.

Cutler's early-on memo identified many of the problems plaguing O/care's disaster rollout: secrecy (which a court cited in kiboshing Hillarycare), the lack of qualified personnel, inability to work with hesitant states and insurers...and so on.

Yet, despite the negatives, the serial lies, reporters still insist in portraying Obama as a "loyalist" who figured that "those who helped him enact the health-care law should be the ones to implement it........."

I, for one, doubt that "loyalty" is the reason Obama persisted in the disastrous plan.

Simply b/c "those who helped him enact the health-care law should be the ones to implement it" were the ones getting a piece of the trillion dollar action.

THIS MAKES SENSE-- Obama insiders and crones needed to get paid off---if he had ditched them, they would have been screaming bloody murder.....coulda been threats that they'd even queer the deal if he cut them off.

Nail, meet head. It is and has always been about controlling the economy and redistributing to cronies. Nothing new here. Move along.
