President Obama continues to alter his signature promise in selling the Affordable Care Act back in 2009 and 2010.
"If you like your plan, you can keep your plan," he said back then.
But that simple pledge has had to change as the Affordable Care Act has been implemented and a small percentage of Americans, albeit millions of people, have received cancellation notices from their insurance companies. And for the second time in two weeks, he's tweaked the line.
When President Obama spoke Monday night to a group of supporters, he said: "While virtually every insurer is offering new, better plans and competing for these folks' business, I realize that can be scary for people if you just get some notice like that."
"If you had or have one of these plans before the Affordable Care Act came into law and you really like that plan, what we said was, you could keep it if hasn't changed since the law's passed," added Obama.

They forgot about the most obvious lie of all: that word “Affordable” in the bill’s title.
It was lies, not “misspeaks”.
We’ve always been at war with Eastasia.
If CNN is starting to notice the various incongruities in what the Current Occupant now squatting in the White Hut (or “Spite Hut”) has pledged in the past, and now is trying desperately to walk back, then it may not be long until even the low-information voters will be scratching their heads and looking puzzled.
And when does “alter” become “falter”?
Nobody’s buying that line of BS.
So, Barry, you're saying that what you didn't say is what you said? Are there 29 videos of you saying what you didn't say, because there are at least that many showing you saying what you did say?
I always get Eastasia and Eurasia mixed up. Thanks Comrade!
I Love Big Brother!
Obama’s tautology. They had to change the plans after the law was passed to comply with the law.
Now that even the low-information voters must acknowledge that Obama clearly lied about his signature program, might they make the inductive leap and realize that he also lied about Benghazi, Fast & Furious, the IRS targeting of conservative groups, the NSA, in fact, pretty much everything he has ever said?
Has anyone read the comment section at cnn?
Heard Rush today ask “Why do we only hear about people who liked their health plans and didn’t get to keep them? Why don’t we hear about people who are happy to get the new plans?”
Answer: Anyone who wanted to buy a bigger, better health plan was always free to do so. Ergo, everyone was in the health plan they wanted / could afford.
It’s the government saying “we don’t think this plan is good enough for you. Go buy a bigger one” and forcing people to do so....that’s why we see the complaints.
“Has anyone read the comment section at cnn?”
Yes - seems like the natives are getting restless.
In fact, they are getting Pretty Damn Mad. Good.
“Obamas tautology. They had to change the plans after the law was passed to comply with the law.”
I like the ring of that. “Obama’s Tautology”. Can we get a Wikipedia entry on that? It could become like the Laffer Curve.
I did. It’s similar to reading an Obamacare thread on FR.
Yes it does. I have read same type of comments about the admin at msnbc too.
