Toronto Mayor Rob Ford is doubling down against calls for his resignation amid reports that police have a video showing him smoking crack.
In a whirlwind radio show on Sunday, the embattled mayor apologized for getting drunk in public and said he would try and make sure it didn't happen again.
"I shouldn't have got hammered down at the Danforth [festival]," Ford said on his weekly radio show Sunday, according to Toronto's Globe and Mail newspaper. "If you are going to have a couple drinks, you stay at home. You don't make a public spectacle of yourself."
But Ford did not address the more serious allegation against him, stemming from reports that a video recently procured by police shows him inhaling from a crack pipe.

On the other hand he is now fully-qualified to become Mayor of Washington, D.C.
I saw the video of him shooing the press “off my property” this morning...ooooh he was mad!
This guy is a ruddy, pink puffer. I’m surprised the crack didn’t induce some sort of cardio-vascular episode.

TO police chief has now injected himself politically.
Like Ford` lawyer said, got the video, release it. Got criminal charges, press them.
They thrown the gauntlet down to the political cop in charge, put up or shut up.
If he does hand in his resignation he can always be a senator here in the states.
Just this last five minutes the mayor admitted he had indeed smoked crack cocaine. I have never seen in fifty years of watching Canadian city politics the likes of the media frenzy. This has continued on this man for weeks. Trespass and personal harassment at virtually every level, except actual entry past his front door.
They appear to have got what they have wanted. The only thing lacking is for someone to ask the media on their personal habits. The media women have been the worst in hunting down this man. The word "bitches" might be a most mild description of many of these banshees.
It just might be over for Rob Ford.

This guy won election in 2010 on the campaign slogan “He is NOT a Communist!”
Today New York City will elect a Mayor on the campaign slogan “I AM a Communist, and a Damn Good One at That!”
The Canadian major television networks kept viewers on a breathless edge for about an hour. This was to be a major announcement by Mayor Rob Ford. Well, on rolled the mayor. Almost tearing up with his deep apologies. The media, having speculated freely were waiting.
Suddenly the mayor indicated that he will keep on being the mayor. A semi-hysterical shriek broke out right on his statement by a news media banshee. I stuck by the television for one hour and should have done other things.
So it goes, but I wish him well.
I wish him well too. He’s been great for Toronto . The socialist knives have been out for him since day one.
Well, he’s acknowledged it now... Marion Berry wannabe.
That only works if you’re a liberal. He’s a fiscal conservative who put a lid on spending, stood down the unions and privatized garbage collection, so the media made digging up dirt on him a full-time job since before he was elected.
