Some federal workers who were required to remain on the job during the government shutdown said Monday that they have filed a lawsuit demanding double pay, arguing that the governments failure to pay them on time is a violation of labor laws.
The five workers, all employed by the Bureau of Prisons and required to work during the shutdown, said their paychecks in early October didnt include money for Oct. 1 through Oct. 5. The workers said that meant they didnt earn the minimum wage for their work, and they also werent paid overtime both of which are labor violations.
The minimum wage applicable to essential employees is $7.25 per hour, or $290 for a 40-hour week, the workers said in their lawsuit, filed in federal claims court late last month. Many essential employees were paid less than $290 for work performed during the week.
The federal employees have since been paid for the time they worked, but their lawsuit says many of them had to make tough spending choices and incurred debts and interest costs.
The workers said they are entitled to compensatory damages under the Fair Labor Standards Act that should double the amount they have been paid.

Buddy, I don’t know if you were aware but God is busy seeking to BLESS in this world. Curses are earned by us by refusing the blessings.
I have excellent reason to be very adamant about this!
Do you want to see salvation happen here? Then quit singing the blues, literally for Christ’s sake!
Bully's go to Hell. Save yourself.
What do you mean “save myself.”
I am already saved by the Cross!
However when I try to tell others about this, it seems THEY get cross.
Yeah, a lot of folks thought Jesus was a bully too. Like the Pharisees and scribes. Jesus was upsetting their grim apple cart. That’s why they crucified Him. You don’t crucify what you think is a mild nuisance. THINK, buddy. THINK.
Heaven has no place for theological thugs such as yourself. Prepare for you doom.
You should prepare for yours, with that grim mindset of yours. God isn’t grim. “His chastisement is for a moment and His lovingkindness is forever.”
I mean, if I am a “thug for happiness” what is your idea of a heaven dweller? Someone who is perpetually playing blues on that harp???
God was telling the world to cheer up clear back from Cain! (Read it for yourself.)
