Young people are key for the Affordable Care Act to work, and as a result of a half-million-dollar grant by the California Endowment, TV shows regularly consumed by these young people will soon be weaving Obamacare into plotlines in order to get more of them enrolled in the health care program.
If you’ve ever watched Modern Family or New Girl and thought, “Gee, if only I was learning about the benefits of a complex federal program during this, it would be so much better,” you’re in luck!
The 18-month grant, to the Lear Center’s Hollywood Health & Society program, will be used for briefings with staff from television shows and to track health overhaul-related depictions on prime-time and Spanish-language television.
Since the grant money was provided so recently, no plot lines involving health care have been written…

The only regular TV show I watch is Criminal Minds and only because of Shemar Moore. LOL I watch news, sports, some HGTV, and old shows on MeTV. I can’t tolerate the current TV shows. They are so moronic. And if I want to watch morons, there is always MSNBC.

This could work both ways. I want to see my kids’ reaction if Mr. Krabs is forced to shut down The Krusty Krab when the cost of providing insurance to SpongeBob and Squidward becomes prohibitively expensive.
My wife and I are both BB addicts, but one of the huge howlers in the storyline was the one where Walter had to worry about his health insurance. In reality, New Mexico public school teachers have great health insurance plans. Ditto for his bro-in-law who got shot up by Mexican cartel gunmen. In the plotline, DEA agent Hank Schroeder has to worry about his hospital insurance. I sincerely doubt that would be the case.

No it won't. They've been doing this for 40 years or more. You'll note most of the money will be going to a Lear organization. Norman Lear is the Marxist producer who created "All in the Family," one of the most anti-conservative series ever to air. It portrayed us as brain-dead bigots who need to be "educated" by our liberal betters.
Hollywood has been a principal vector for American cultural change, from feminism (Maude, The Mary Tyler Moore Show, Murphy Brown ad nauseum) to "normalization" of homosexuality Gay TV.
What chaps my posterior is "conservative" posters here who think some of those shows are great and don't have the brainpower to understand they're being indoctrinated. Leni Riefenstahl would be proud.

Why were you surprised? The left has been pushing it’s messages on TV for decades; even “All In The Family” was a pulpit for their views until they realized most watchers agreed with Archie Bunker. The Left takes their playbook from the Nazis, who perfected mass propaganda; they analyzed how they did it, then did it themselves.
Look to the “Big Bang Theory” as well; they are looking to sell it to a younger crowd (who apparently doesn’t want to pay for it). As liberal as “Law & Order” is, it has too many big words and legal terms for young low-information voters...
