York County GOP Votes to Support Lee Bright By Wide Margin

ALSO REJECT COMMON CORE: A NEW CONCEPT FOR LINDSEY

The York County GOP gave Lee Bright’s surging campaign a pair of convincing straw poll victories last week, as the upstate Senator from Spartanburg picked up a large plurality of the executive committee vote as well as the general membership vote. Bright defeated Lindsey Graham 42-21% among the Executive Committee members, with 27% undecided and no one else above 6% – and 42-16% among all members present. In addition, the membership voted unanimously to adopt the RNC’s resolution to flatly reject Common Core.

“This is another great result for our campaign,” said Bright of the double victory. “We’ve had great success with the grass roots from the beginning, but this shows we are also strong among many party executives as well. For an incumbent Senator to get such a small percentage of GOP officials should be embarrassing. It shows the arc of this campaign, which is trending in our favor.”

The Common Core vote was also a bad omen of sorts for Team Graham, as York County unanimously endorsed the RNC resolution. “Just a few weeks ago, Graham was asked by a voter in Charleston about Common Core, and he had no idea what it was,” recalled Bright. “Even the Republican National Committee understands how evil Common Core is, and yet, Lindsey Graham was going to have to ask his staff to look into it. This is a major issue, and this episode is further proof of how out of touch he is, and why we need to retire him from the U.S. Senate.”

Does Mr. Bright need more cash for a superior ass-kicking?

This isn't good news. It is great news. Graham's base is upstate. If he is eroding here, then he will erode elsewhere. My kid brother owned a business in Pickens County and couldn't stand Graham.

Lindsey girl's love of illegal aliens is the main reason why my bother's business folded.

Well done, C.E.

What’s your read on the seeming disconnect between the county activists here and Graham still polling at over 51 percent in the stuff I’ve seen? Does Bright have GOTV muscle that you know of?

Bevin is getting hosed by some “Conservatives” like Rand Paul and La Raza Rubio...who are supporting McConnell. Haven’t seen PhonyCons rush to support Grahamnesty. Bevin will need more help

As well as DNC money too. The Dems have a significant investment in Graham, especially in the South where libs typically have a tough time of it.

If Graham loses primary, he’ll probably pull a Crist and finally show his true colors and run as a Dem at at some point.

most of the polls have LG at far lower than 51% - so that’s a very soft 51 if it even is 51.

I’m just going by the last one I saw. Hopefully that’s indeed an outlier. Anyhow, nice piece.

Yeah, there’s a statewide in the 30’s and another in the low 40s - I think this is a hometown number perhaps….which will move the way the activists move, since they are the ones paying attention now.

Or, just an outlier…...
