Sen. Ted Cruz won't be talking politics when he addresses some 400 pastors Monday in South Carolina. The Texas Republican will focus his remarks on his faith and values.
The event is sponsored by the American Renewal Project, the brainchild of evangelical political operative David Lane, The State newspaper reports.
Cruz, a tea party favorite and one of the most vocal Congressional opponents of the Affordable Care Act, was a driving force behind shutting down the federal government in an effort to defund Obamacare.
Cruz, a freshman, is weighing a run in the 2016 GOP presidential primaries.
Sen. Tim Scott of South Carolina also will address the event.
"Everyone knows what theyre running for. We want to know where you are coming from. What were looking for is whats behind the curtain," Lane told the newspaper.
The group has invited other GOP presidential hopefuls, including Gov. Bobby Jindal of Louisiana, and Sens. Rand Paul of Kentucky and Marco Rubio of Florida.

Nevermind - Chris Hedges has already written it.

What's your point?
The left-wing Marxist press is going to spew, spin, lie, and attempt to bring down every possible conservative candidate that they can.
So?

They’ll focus on the ones they know can win...the others they will promote because they know they haven’t a chance to win.
Remember the press refused to knock Romney for most of the run.....even when it was questioned.

We might as well know what they’re going to attack in Cruz and hash it out here on FR til we have developed good comebacks.....and do that soon. The demrats have their guys fully in motion and especially those they think should be OUR candidates.

Some really nutty stuff at that link. The links between Cruz and those "scary Dominionists" are about as solid as those connecting Lone Starr to Dark Helmet.
