Coyotes are a small type of wolf: their proper biological name is “the lesser prairie wolf”. We had problems with a pair hunting in tandem that almost moved me to buy a crossbow with a laser sight — the only thing with sufficient lethality that wouldn’t run afoul of no-discharge-of-firearms ordinances where I live. They moved to other hunting grounds before I bought it.

Get a dying rabbit call for less than $10 at a sporting goods store and pick a good shooting position. They`ll sometimes come close enough to hit with a rock.

Caution, a dying rabbit call pulls in every other predator too, black bear, cougar, wild dogs (a big problem in some places) so be ready for the unexpected.
