Democrats absolutely do not care if their policies work; they care only that they remain in power and to be richly compensated for their wisdom in telling everybody else what to do.

Let's be honest, the above statement holds true with the liberals in the GOPe, as well as the Dems. The GOPe doesn't even pretend to dislike BigGov anymore.

Let's be honest, the above statement holds true with the liberals in the GOPe, as well as the Dems.

While what you say is true at the top level, it is less likely with the body of the Party. I am speaking of Democrats from the lowest level, bureaucrats, teachers, and trade union thugs. "Moderate Republicans" in the wider Party are usually middle class working stiffs who just don't know any better; many are former Democrats still in recovery. We should keep in mind that they need education more than reproof.
