I would check their mosque connections.

A main islamic program is to seek positions of power where they can be armed.

I’m all for this as long as the movement doesn’t get all wrapped up with animal rights kooks.

Dont these police carry tasers? I dopnt understand why they dont just tase these dogs instead of killing them ... Unless killing them IS the point.

By the way there used to be a circle of Freepers who kept “Freeper cop-hater” lists. I know I was flagged because I spoke out against jack-booted thuggery at one point. So fair warning to y’all. Not wanting to see your beloved pet’s brains blown out so some guy can feel macho will probably land you on one of those lists.

Interesting post re. serial killers. Serial killers often display early warning signs by abusing pets.

Actually, a vicious pit won’t just pad by you and go “ruff”. It will be very obviouus what he’s abut and he’ll probably bite before saying anything, at which point he’s still manageable for a cop.

An unhappy combination of degraded police training, increased militarization of police (a BIG problem) and a trigger-happy law enforcement culture.

Your anger is showing! Many people hate cops until they need one. Your rage on cops most likely has nothing to do with dogs....why don’t you be honest and tell us why you really hate cops.
I knew someone like you and his reason was his son died on drugs while hiding from cops . Therefore it was the cops fault. (They chased him). A sad but true story of a small townTexas mayor.

Frankly can’t blame police for erring on the side of caution.

So if I come to your home and your dog barks at me, can I "err on the side of caution" and shoot it?

I live in the country and my dogs run free. Our little homestead is frequently visited by the mailman, UPS, and FedEx and we have had no problems whatsoever. The reason, they all have treats. People who make deliveries in the country know this, and the dogs know it. It all works out.

I'm trying to think what I'd ever need a cop for. Coming up blank. I don't have a dog, so I don't need my dog shot. I like my family, so I don't need any of my family members murdered. The local thieves steal the equivalent of a traffic fine or so every couple of years, so the cops would't help there.

You're FOS. The poster can't sound angry or in rage or hateful of any of the things you accuse him of, as he/she offers no commentary whatsoever. Just an article and a graphic.

You on the other hand sound absolutely furious. Project much?

This is very good. If you ever start a "snark" ping list please add me.

“Your anger is showing! Many people hate cops until they need one. Your rage on cops most likely has nothing to do with dogs....why don’t you be honest and tell us why you really hate cops.”

Excuse me?

I challenge you find any post from me saying that I “hate cops”.

Because I posted an article somehow to someone like you translates into a “hate cops”

You are nuts.

There are many thousands of fine law enforcement officers in the USA. Many of which are animal lovers and many who resort to the use of deadly force as a last resort by following police procedures. And most veteran and senior law enforcement officers do not look favorably at the ‘new breed’ of police officers that resort to deadly force as a first measure. There have been incidents where police officers have shot at moving animals with no consideration of the background behind the animals, where some bystanders have been hit by ricochets off of pavement or by rounds that have missed the animal.

The Use-of-Force Continuum

Most law enforcement agencies have policies that guide their use of force. These policies describe a escalating series of actions an officer may take to resolve a situation. This continuum generally has many levels, and officers are instructed to respond with a level of force appropriate to the situation at hand, acknowledging that the officer may move from one part of the continuum to another in a matter of seconds.

An example of a use-of-force continuum follows:

Officer Presence — No force is used. Considered the best way to resolve a situation.
The mere presence of a law enforcement officer works to deter crime or diffuse a situation.
Officers’ attitudes are professional and nonthreatening.
Verbalization — Force is not-physical.
Officers issue calm, nonthreatening commands, such as “Let me see your identification and registration.”
Officers may increase their volume and shorten commands in an attempt to gain compliance. Short commands might include “Stop,” or “Don’t move.”
Empty-Hand Control — Officers use bodily force to gain control of a situation.
Soft technique. Officers use grabs, holds and joint locks to restrain an individual.
Hard technique. Officers use punches and kicks to restrain an individual.
Less-Lethal Methods — Officers use less-lethal technologies to gain control of a situation.
(See Deciding When and How to Use Less-Lethal Devices. )
Blunt impact. Officers may use a baton or projectile to immobilize a combative person.
Chemical. Officers may use chemical sprays or projectiles embedded with chemicals to restrain an individual (e.g., pepper spray).
Conducted Energy Devices (CEDs). Officers may use CEDs to immobilize an individual. CEDs discharge a high-voltage, low-amperage jolt of electricity at a distance.
Lethal Force — Officers use lethal weapons to gain control of a situation. Should only be used if a suspect poses a serious threat to the officer or another individual.
Officers use deadly weapons such as firearms to stop an individual’s actions.

well there are indeed a lot of total scumbag lawyers

I am not one of them. It is not in my character to lie, make promises I can’t keep, etc but I deal with lawyers that are into destruction for the fun of it.

I am selective about my cases and only take the ones I think I can help. Too many clients have asked me to lie, wanted to treat me like a paid mouthpiece etc and I have turned them down. I am a straight shooter. The crooked ones can’t deal with me because they have lied so much they wouldn’t recognize the truth if it bit them in the ass.

Just as their are police that operate the same, as did I. Don’t paint with a broad brush lest you get some paint on you.

well I am glad there are some

When I first realized there was trouble was when I was a prosecutor in the 80s and had an investigator in my office and asked him how the search went down.

He grinned and laughed and said “I’ll say whatever you want me to say.” I asked again, trying to interpret what he meant. He repeated himself and said we will say whatever we need to make it stick.

I instantly made the decision to deal the case out and told him that is what I was doing and why. And told him he could go, I would not need him to testify. He never pulled that crap with me again.
