Doesn’t the “S” in SNAP stand for supplemental? The program isn’t intended to be a free breakfast, lunch, and dinner every day.
Perhaps I should say, “wasn’t intended”, because clearly there are some who think it should be.
With WIC, government cheese, free school meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks, even in the Summer and adults welcome!) in addition to food stamps and all the rest we’re already there.
