To elaborate:

One egg, a glass of OJ, and some cottage cheese for breakfast.

Some pasta in olive oil or butter with fresh garlic and a glass of V8 for lunch.

A chicken breast with rosemary and thyme plus some salad for dinner. Maybe a slice of bread.

Similar eating all week. Total cost: about $20, which is just under $3 per day.

To be fair, this was a few years ago.

Oh, and my splurge? A box of Kraft Mac and Cheese, usually on Thursday. Bonus: lots of carbs and protein.

With coupons and BOGOs and sales, it isn’t that hard. Won’t be having lobster like that guy in CA, but you sure wouldn’t starve.
