To get a sense of the Republicans' internal struggle, take a look at a congressional runoff Tuesday in south Alabama. Bradley Byrne, a lawyer with two decades in government, is the U.S. Chamber of Commerce's preferred candidate vs. Dean Young, a self-described tea party conservative best known as a onetime campaign adviser to Roy Moore, the judge who was once ousted as state Supreme Court chief justice after refusing to remove a Ten Commandments monument from the lobby of the Alabama Judicial Building.

But polls suggest the race has tightened considerably with a low turnout expected Tuesday.
Can never remember when the national media has ever been so “concerned” over a House election in Alabama...
Nope, no divide there, no kumbaya of how Lieberman was an enlightened moderate and how Dems were pandering to the extremists, no siree.
There’s also the issue of distrust with Byrne, a longtime Democrat who party-switched a few years back. Shifting winds and all that.
Roy Moore, the judge who was once ousted as state Supreme Court chief justice after refusing to remove a Ten Commandments monument
You notice they don't say Moore is the PRESENT-DAY Chief Justice, elected in a landslide, do they? The "ousting" was purely political, and these libtards know it.
Last poll I saw showed Young edging to the lead. Byrne and the establishment / COC repubs are getting desperate. Whoever wins the repub primary will win the general election.
I don’t think Byrne would be too bad - he did stand up to the then all-powerful Alabama teachers union a few years ago and they rewarded him by assassinating his chance to be governor by crossover-voting for little-known Robert Bentley in the primary. Bentley won and promptly assisted the super-majority republicans in both houses to pass legislation that reigned in the union’s power (hopefully forever). That said, I think it would be fun to send Dean Young to Washington - suspect he’d stand with the Tea Party reps.
I voted for him in the 2010 GOP state primary. Since then, he wrote an editorial for The Birmingham News in 2013 in which he strongly supported immigration reform, i.e., amnesty, and opposed the recent stringent immigration law passed by the state of AL. Go Dean Young!
Yahoo. Enough of the liberal spin drool coming from you frauds. The republicans may be divided. The democrats are self destructing and are poised to blow up to smithereens
This is a race where GOTV is more important than money. Byrne’s backers are rightly nervous. They need immigration reform and so do we, just not the way they want it.

Don’t get cocky. The Dems have been self-destructing since the nation was Founded. They’re the Mommy Party and the Party of Free Money & Stuff. That sells and always has.
It is amazing that yahoo picks up this little election in Alabama.
Our own Freeper, wxrgina, wrote about this demonrat.
