He forgot to mention two things : 1. Under the Constitution , citizen have the right to keep and bear arms. Implied in that right is the right to bear them outside of one's abode. 2. Under that same Constitution, citizens have the right to be considered innocent until proven guilty. No police officer when I was young would done what this deputy did. Because many were the day that ,in the evening, walking down the road headed home carrying my .22 rifle , one will drive up behind me in his patrol car and ask, "Where are you headed?" Me: "Home" Him: "How far do you live?" Me: About a mile from here." Him: "I'm going that way, get in the car and I will drop you off." The police then were actually your friends. You could talk and associate with them. We never feared the police.

This is not the case now. Now I avoid contact with them like the plague.

What’s interesting is that they are filing a federal lawsuit charging a violation of his 4th Amendment Rights protecting citizens against unreasonable searches and seizures.

Good for them.
