if you are a convicted felon who has paid the price for your crime(s), then yes, absolutely, you should have the same 2a rights as every other citizen.

What about armed robbery or other gun crimes?

What about armed robbery or other gun crimes?

I was convicted of "other gun crime". Simple possession, a felony in Illinois when I was convicted in 2001.

Not a valid excuse but I didn't even realize at the time that I was carrying. A forgotten about, .32 semi auto in a large coat pocket, a nosy, probably bent on theft waitress saw it in my coat pocket which was hanging on a coat rack, called the cops and lo and behold, I'm a convicted gun felon.

36 hours in the shit hole county lock up. $2500 in court fees, $3000 in lawyers fees, 18 months probation and I'm a "gun felon".

It pains some here to hear that Illinois did not take away my right to vote too.
