SEATTLE, WASHINGTON - A 66-year-old nurse practitioner is in trouble after he prescribed pot to young children. The Washington State Nursing Commission charged Joel Berman with issuing medical marijuana to a 6-year-old and a 4-year-old.

I have a feeling Mommy and Daddy were dipping into the kid’s stash.
This is the sort of thing we parents are now having to do battle with. While this is blatant, the culture of “marijuana is good for you” has permeated our culture.
Nurse Joel is apparently a “psychiatric nurse.”
Was that wrong? Should I not have done that? I tell you, I gotta plead ignorance on this thing, because if anyone had said anything to me at all when I first started here that that sort of thing is frowned upon...
without clicking on the link I’m getting the image of a greasy gray pony-tail...
Check the guy to see if he’s a kiddy pervert just to be sure.
“Check the guy to see if hes a kiddy pervert just to be sure.”
Good idea - it should be checked on. You seem like you’re in some area of law enforcement, or you have some experience with people like this.
No, just practical experience with neighborhood pervs.
Had a dude, we’ll call him “mort”, he’d ply kids with alcohol and pot before doing his “business”.
His family was famous for buying off the parents of the victims.
Roughly the same age group as well.
My sister was given marijuana by our doctor for her asthma back in the forties. But that was before the war on drugs permeated our culture.
Antiques Roadshow had a doctor’s bag from the 1800’s with all the instruments and little bottles of drugs and herbs intact... And one of them was labeled marijuana.
It was the only vial that was empty...lol
I hate to say it, but as an RN, might have been one of the safest drugs to prescribe. Ever read the side effects of a pharmaceutical?
Have you been keeping up with the international studies by top universities that indicate that effects of marijuana on young people under 18 are very serious and irreversible? As an RN, you have a responsibility to keep up with the latest studies before you speak up.
I’m speaking out of extreme cynicism and sarcasm from my knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry. Sorry I forgot to add the /sarc tag. But feel free to jump down my throat. You won’t be the first. Feel better?
I suspect that, for this nurse, it was just a form of foreplay, and that he had other plans for these children.
Must be a democrat.
