State-owned channel Rossiya 24 even showed footage of a technician opening up an iron included in a batch of Chinese imports to find a "spy chip" with what he called "a little microphone". Its correspondent said the hidden devices were mostly being used to spread viruses, by connecting to any computer within a 200m (656ft) radius which were using unprotected Wi-Fi networks. Other products found to have rogue components reportedly included mobile phones and car dashboard cameras.

Nope. No one lives close enough to access it. I can’t even see it in the garage. I had to add a second router to reach the other side of the house. Stone walls are good to holding wi-fi in.

I knew I did the right thing when I got Mrs. Sivana the German made Rowenta (great irons! Best since GE sold their iron division to EVIL Black and Decker)

Where was your keyboard made?

My 'new' laptop battery is from China... and my computer's been acting a little weird. Also, has anyone done the math to see how many pounds of poison would have to be dumped into dog food treats to kill as many American pets as were killed with this latest round of 'Chinese dog food' killings?

The Chinese also put melamine in baby formula, I think someone got in trouble for that, because it was sold in China.

Imagine the relative ease of engineering into a keyboard a GPS, and a keystroke recorder with software to send the data, or merely to save it so that (when the location is already known) a quiet B&E to grab the data (including all the passwords and user IDs) and set it up for another batch.

Is the article about the danger of free trade or how paranoid Russians are?

Interesting article. Somebody ought to try a bat detector (ultrasonic to audible converter) on an infected computer
