For 31 days now, the Obama administration has been telling us that Americans by the millions are visiting the new health insurance website, despite all its problems.
But no one in the administration has been willing to tell us how many policies have been purchased, and this may be the reason: CBS News has learned the number is very small.
Early enrollment figures are contained in notes from twice-a-day "war room" meetings convened within the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services after the website failed on Oct. 1. They were turned over in response to a document request from the House Oversight Committee.
The website launched on a Tuesday. Publicly, the government said there were 4.7 million unique visits in the first 24 hours. But at a meeting Wednesday morning, the war room notes say "six enrollments have occurred so far."
They were with BlueCross BlueShield North Carolina and Kansas City, CareSource and Healthcare Service Corporation.
By Wednesday afternoon, enrollments were up to "approximately 100." By the end of Wednesday, the notes reflect "248 enrollments" nationwide.

Nobody wants Obamacare. They hate it and the more they know the more they hate and resent their stolen freedom.
And how many of them were Medicaid enrollments?
If 9 out of 10 end up being “takers”, the system will collapse on itself.
Boo-yah!
Sharyl must be the only decent journalist left at CBS. Between this and Bengazi, I’m surprised she hasn’t been fired yet.
If not, I STRONGLY suggest she have her housekeeper or nanny start her car in the morning.
Wait till they find out that the first $6,000 in medical care is on them and then they have to pay 50% of the rest.
It is time to for the public to insist on what the health care plans look like for Obama, Pelosi, Clinton and the rest of the rats. Hammer, hammer, hammer!
I wish, wish, wish someone would ask Mr. Obama “Will you commit to firing Ms. Sebelius if the website is not functional on Dec 1st, if you care so very much like you say you do?”
Not that it would make any difference in the world, but it would be fun to watch.
It won’t collapse on itself.
It’ll collapse on US.
Augh.
Government Health Insurance Program (GHIP) isn’t going too well eh? lol
Only one more to go!
“Nobody wants Obamacare. They hate it and the more they know the more they hate and resent their stolen freedom.”
the problem is that some people, like the ones who had their insurance cancelled, will be forced to enroll to even be covered.
Or is Obamacare a roach motel kind of thing?
Next comes Amnesty and 15 million new Democrat voters insured under 0bamacare. Then it's on to 'mandatory obesity correction programs', 'mandatory smokers' cessation programs', then 'Tea Party mindset is a mental disease', blah blah blah ..
I can hear it now.. "Hey lady I pay for your health care so put that cigarette out NOW" as he punches her in the face. "Hey fatty, put that burger down NOW", etc..
The danger of 0bamacare is that it MAKES EVERYONE'S LIFESTYLE CHOICES EVERYONE ELSE'S BUSINESS which is about as UNamerican as can be.
And how many will be victims of identity theft?
So in the first week, more people died of old age then were able to sign up for healthcare. The long term trend does not look good.
The state exchanges are equally horrible. IIRC, CT gleefully claimed less than 200 signed up after a week. I suspect that was accounts created, not policies purchased as you don’t need a account to view prices in CT.
Ping!
At that rate it’ll take just under 160K years to get everyone enrolled. Assuming a population of 350M
All of them.
Can anyone see the comments posted after the article? I’ve tried to click on the comments link and nothing happens. I’ve noticed the same thing happen on a USA Today website trying to read the comments on an Obamacare article; again would not load the comments, and that was using a different laptop.
Strange. Is anyone else having problems viewing the comments on Obamacare articles? For the past couple of weeks most comments have been negative on articles. Maybe “they” are making it more difficult to read the comments now??
