Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas), the political face of the recent government shutdown, will make his first late night TV appearance on Nov. 8 when he guests on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.
Cruzs appearance reflects the increasingly common trend of political figures, no matter how controversial, venturing into late night, often in hopes of softening their image or reaching audiences normally not tuned in to politics. Cruz is mentioned as a possible candidate in 2016, and his appearance would be in line with other past candidates who have appeared in late night in advance of a run. In 2010, Mitt Romney appeared on Late Show with David Letterman as he promoted his pre-campaign tome, No Apology.
In a press release, NBC said that Cruz will discuss the government shutdown, the debt ceiling, Washington gridlock and the state of the Republican party.

Good! This is the name of the game now. Our candidates absolutely have to appear on these shows to get past the media attacks. Glad to see it.

Good post.
For better or worse most folks 30 and under get their info from shows like this and social media.
All those FReepers who say they want to completely disregard them are basically saying surrender any hope of winning future national elections.

Cruz, be on your game. Leno has his assault prepared, with an 'Applause/No applause' sign RIGGED to embarrass Cruz. 'Stand your ground' will surely be brought up, and Leno's racist, all black band will get huffy and defensive. Cruz eligible to be president??? Leno will bash Cruz about this, too.
God Bless Ted Cruz. Tonight I'll be reminded once again that Leno is nothing but a puppet for his Soros/NBC owned by G.E. (complicit in the forged Obama birth certificate (read Doug Vogt's Court filing)) handlers.
Alan Dershowitz regards Cruz as his BRIGHTEST STUDENT EVER. NO JOKE!! Be strong, Cruz!
NBC's Savannah Guthrie is complicit in perpetrating the LIE that 0bama's birth certificate is authentic.. Oh wait, she was on Leno's show JUST LAST NIGHT!!

I’d really like to see a Cruz/Lee ticket. Lee has a very strong, but muted, intellect. I think they’d make a great team.

I don’t watch that crap but please report back and let everyone know how it goes. I’d be especially interested in knowing if Leno treats Sen. Cruz with respect or tries to do to him what Tina Fey does to Sarah Palin. If he does, I hope Cruz has the integrity to walk off the set...

Sarah was on Saturday Night Live one night. She did a backstage parody including Mark Wahlberg downplaying her presence, for laughs.
It was great. Marky Mark is very funny, acting like the doofus tough guy. And she can laugh at herself.
I’m sure Cruz can. It just takes humility.

I bet you folks that once Ted Cruz sets foot on stage he will get a standing ovation. He will sweep the floor with Leno. Leno can’t hold a candle to Cruz’ intellect. God I can’t wait to see. I bet Leno will get a very high rating on the night Ted appears.
To: SoConPubbie
It will be the highest ratings of the years.
The RINO’s will say “Wha’ Happen?” and call Les Nesman and Herb Tarlick into the office to discuss a new strategy for the GOP

I’ll bet Ted is going to do fine, he is good at the articulation of freedom. Because he actually belives in it, unlike the Rockefeller Controlling class Progressive Statists who only pay freedom lip service!
