If the socialism in Norway and Sweden has done any good thing, it has encouraged children and child bearing.

You say that, but you have a 1.88 birthrate (sub-replacement) as of the latest stats. I don't know if Russia has yet achieved a replacement level, either, and their overall life expectancy may not have bottomed out, either.

I know a lot about this, and the Norwegian birth rate is heavily influenced by especially Somali immigrants.

Every extra kid you get is like winning the lottery, Norwegian style.

I have a little sister who works in the government welfare section. It is still crazy.

For goodness sake, a few months ago one of her best friends were beheaded at the front desk.

That was at her office. One immigrant (Pakistani) walked up behind her and slit her throat. These offices look like a hotel lobby so now security.

We have a tough challenge ahead. That is why I look here for wisdom and inspiration.

As far as the birth rates go? I think they do help. But, government initiatives that encourage childbearing might make a Norwegian couple have an extra kid or two.

It makes the Somali gal have 10. so...
