Fairfield GOP Chair Resigns from Team Graham: Endorses Lee Bright for Senate
Bright for senate ^ | 10/29/13

Kevin Thomas “frustrated” by Graham’s support for Obama agenda

When Kevin Thomas was asked by Team Graham to be a precinct captain, he agreed out of a sense of party duty. Now, in light of Lindsey Graham’s continuing missteps, he has officially resigned his post and is enthusiastically endorsing upstate Senator Lee Bright for the U.S. Senate. This personal endorsement speaks to a dynamic across the state, and dovetails nicely with recent national endorsements from the Republican Liberty Caucus and Gun Rights Across America, along with a unanimous victory in a Sumter Tea Party straw poll.

“The more I thought about his votes over the last few years – time after time voting with Democrats and the President on some issues – I was really frustrated,” said Thomas of Graham. “I just couldn’t be his precinct captain anymore.” One of the last straws for Thomas was Graham’s “going against Ted Cruz recently. I just can’t stand with (Graham) any more.”

For Thomas, the choice to endorse Bright was easy. “With Lee, I look at his voting record. A lot of candidates say (they’re) going to do this, but when they go to Washington, they don’t do that. Lee has done what he said he was going to do.” Thomas went on to call Bright “the lion of the S.C. Senate” and said “he can do that for us in Washington as well. He has a voting record similar to that of Jim DeMint’s, who is the ultimate South Carolina conservative.”

Lee Bright welcomed Thomas’ endorsement, saying “Kevin had made the same choice that thousands of South Carolinians are making every day, and for the same reasons. It’s a great day for our team, and we appreciate his support.”

Thomas is not fazed by the conventional wisdom that favors Graham as an incumbent, pointing out, “I was on the ground when we defeated John Spratt. People said we couldn’t beat him. We did, and when people get behind Lee Bright the same way…we can defeat Lindsey Graham.”

Thomas urged people to go to Brightforsenate.com and get involved by donating, writing letters, making phone calls, as they did for Mick Mulvaney against Spratt.

Will the TEA Party be able to field enough candidates who can “Primary-Out” the incumbent Democrats and the Democrat-supportive RINOs politicians in the up-coming 2014 Congressional Election, and thus reduce the crippling Democrat Blight that has plagued our Republic for the past 5 years?

You did the right thing Thomas. Graham needs to be ridden straight out of office never to return; same with his dementa ridden buddy, McCain who appears to have sold his soul to the devil now that he’s buddies with 0.

FYI..On Monday, Graham VOWED to block any appointments until all his questions on Benghazi were answered. Yesterday, the Senate voted to confirm controversial union lawyer Richard Griffin as general counsel of the NLRB.

I'm from PA but we have no senate race in 2014 so I'll give a few bucks to Bright.

It would be very pleasing to raise a glass of 12 year old scotch the day after the SC primary to celebrate the impending divorce of linda graham from jonnie boi mcpain.

Talk about your brokeback humpen buddy.

We knew he was lying and that only feigned this since he's in a primary fight. Great observation to point out that he has already reneged on this 'vow'.

Lee Bright may have to send out a press release to highlight this.

Hey, Little Lindsey’s “vow” to block any appointments lasted right up until the time there was an actual appointment vote—less than 24 hours after his vow.

I hope the good folks of South Carolina wake up to the duplicity of this worthless piece of human excrement and vote him out of office in 2014.
