Russian President Vladmir Putin says everyone will be welcomed to next year's Winter Olympics in Russia, regardless of sexual orientation -- comments that come on the heels of a controversial Russian law on homosexuality.
Putin made his latest assurances on the matter on Monday as he welcomed International Olympic Committee President Thomas Bach and other sports officials to his summer residence in Sochi -- the Black Sea resort town where the Games will happen in February -- state-run RIA Novosti news agency reported.
"We are doing everything, both the organizers and our athletes and fans, so that participants and guests feel comfortable in Sochi, regardless of nationality, race or sexual orientation," Putin said, according to RIA Novosti.

Of course... as long as they respect the law. Not too much to ask.
“The IOC in August said it received assurances “from the highest level of government in Russia” that the law would not affect people attending or taking part in the Games.”
The secular European and American liberals of the IOC are strong arming Putin in order to get the entire free country of Russia to change a policy.
These IOC tactics are an attack against the sovereignty of Russia.

Actually Obama was detained at the airport in Russia for three hours in 2005. Putin will treat the homo olympic athletes better than that. Putin’s anti-gay laws are only for Russian citizens, not for foreign homos whose asses Putin wants to kiss.

Gay rights are the least of our worries when it comes to the Sochi games. Terrorism is what we should be worrying about.

Sochi is a very big milestone for Russia and they’ll do everything possible to make it go smoothly.
