For Likely Voters: McAuliffe: 51%, Cuccinelli 39% (+12 for McAuliffe).
GOP losing both Lt. Governor and Attorney General although looks AG race is within margin of error. Cuccinelli getting killed on "women's issues" including abortion.

If the people of Virginia keep losing their healthcare, there may be a lot of democrats that vote for Cuccinelli next week. We’ll see.

Many women, regardless of their position, see this as a “women’s rights” issue. Expect many more races to suddenly be all about “women’s rights”. The mean old Republicans want to turn the clock back to 1920 and take away your right to vote! The spin Is dizzying.

Virginia is blue now. At best, some future RINO in the mold of Scott Brown might win there but that won’t change anything. Virginia going blue also makes it exceedingly difficult for any future Republican presidential candidate to win.

How do they define a “likely voter”? I would determine it solely based on whether they voted in the 2009 gubernatorial race. There are a lot of people who voted for president in 2008 and 2012 who are not going to vote in this race.
This race is going to be close, much closer than what these polls are saying.

I would qualify that - Northern Virginia is going blue, there has been no recession there. The rest of the state, outside of urban areas, is mostly conservative. The General Assembly is controlled by Republicans.

<> I watched Kirsten Powers pound Cuccinelli on woman issues last night on the panel part of Special Report. The Rats know the weakness of the candidate, are spinning it the way they want without it being answered properly and it is costing him dearly in the polls.

Sounds like a couple of things going on. Failure to articulate the message and a Democrat “full court press” effort.
Considering Terry has promised a complete ban on firearms, you’d think this blatant, Nazi-esque, anti-Rights campaign would be easy to exploit.

People vote their pocketbooks. Out here in Flyover land, we are trying to survive the Great Recession. Northern Virgina being a suburb of Washington is not. Therefor the voters are going to vote to keep the good times rolling. Democrats and compliant big gubmint Republicans brought them prosperity and they damn well are going to keep them in office.

The libertarian candidate is polling almost 10%. Usually, when it comes time to pull the lever, voters wake up. I think this will be a squeaker..
