Before the Affordable Care Act became law in 2010, President Obama promised Americans they could keep their healthcare plan if they liked it. But already hundreds of thousands of citizens are receiving notification that their plans are being cancelled because they don't comply with the new law, and, according to NBC News, the Obama administration has known for at least three years the cancellations were coming.
While campaigning for health care reform in 2009, Obama went out of his way to make one thing perfectly clear: if you like your current health care plan, you will be able to keep it.
On June 15, 2009, Obama said this: "We will keep this promise to the American people. If you like your doctor, you will be able to keep your doctor. Period. If you like your healthcare plan, you will be able to keep your healthcare plan. Period.”
In 2012, he echoed that sentiment, saying, "“If [you] already have health insurance, you will keep your health insurance.”
However, many are finding that not to be the case. More than 300,000 cancellation notices have been sent out in Florida, according to Kaiser Health News, and another 180,000 in California. In New Jersey, the number of cancellations tops 800,000, the Star-Ledger reports.
According to NBC News, approximately 50 to 75 percent of the 14 million Americans who buy their health insurance individually should expect to receive a cancellation letter over the next year "because their existing policies don’t meet the standards mandated by the new health care law."

If they had really wanted you to be able to keep your existing policy, they would have added the dozen or so words needed to make it happen.
If there were a SINGLE republican with a spine, he or she would introduce an emergency bill to grandfather in any policy that was in effect before ACA became the law of the land and have the insurance companies reinstate these pre-existing policies if they were canceled by law since then.
This gives everybody who lost their health insurance standing to sue.
Not only that, we have video of the President saying what’s in the bill and Nancy Pelosi saying “we have to pass it in order to see what’s in it”. It seems like lack of due diligence on the part of Congress and misrepresentation by the President.
I think we know now why Congress didn’t read it. They knew what was inside and wanted plausible deniability.

Wait until next year when those who have employer-provided or retiree benefit healthcare insurance find themselves getting socked with 200% or so premium increases - unless their employers tell them “Sorry, you’re on your own.”

“The INSURANCE COMPANIES are GREEDY so they’re dropping everybody. They refuse to comply with the Minimum insurance plans that we saintly rulers demand on behalf of the people.”
As the MSM repeats this 24/7, they either fool the useful idiots until the day after the 2014 elections, or they don’t.

I posted this article on my Facebook page as one way to preserve this bit of history. I’d recommend people starting to keep screen saves and articles deeply buried in external hard drives and so forth, too. This might seem like a minor incident, but it’s not. This is an expression of government muscle against the press, done in a fascist / statist / communist manner. It’s not Stalin.... it’s more like Chavez. God help us.
