Hmm. How far to the right did McCain and Romney kowtow during their election campaigns? Looked to me like it was in the other direction.

Lowell Weicker was the original RINO. He is a former Independent actually.

As he sees CT go left, he adapts.
To: Olog-hai
Weicker was and is a smug, pompous, sanctimonious asswipe.
To: Olog-hai
Weicker is conniving swine.

Small correction:
"before being defeated by the other-Democrat Joe Lieberman"
Fixed it

“I think that if the Republican Party stays as it is now, I would still run as a geriatric independent, as I did when I ran for governor. The problem would be that if I ran as a Republican, then Id be subject to Republican primaries and Republican conventions and I’d have to leave the house in the morning and not be able to spend time at the Greenwich Country Club. Anybody that runs has to kowtow so far to the public that they become unelectable to the press come election time.”

Ah, yes, yet another entry in the “Tea Party Is Destroying The Republican Party” meme - the proggies are pounding that drum as hard as they can. Sort of amusing, really.

Just like that piece-of-filth Lincoln Chafee— I actually heard that asshat doing a full-blown 911 Truther confabulation on local public radio.

“kowtow so far to the right” ?!?!?!?!?!?!
The GOP has become RINO’s, wannabe Dems, the majorty are caving on almost every pro-Socialist/Communist issue.
THE GOP calls patriots and TEA Partiers “exotics”.
What is he smoking?
Possibly he's referring to Republicans in some other country...

LOL— your re-write is much more accurate than the original.

Weicker has always been an arrogant scumbag with a false sense of entitlement. He brought Ct a state income tax that was suppose to be temporary. I wonder what cesspool Salon dragged him out of?

I wonder if Weicker wants to reprint Mao's Little Red Book and swap Mao's name for Obama...

So far to the right? Everything the Tea Party supports was standard Republican Party policy during the time Weicher served in Congress.

A couple of things about RINOs: they live for a very long time and they only get bolder with age.

Lowell Weicker was the original RINO.True dat. We ought to make a list that goes back to 1970 when Lowell became a U.S. Senator ...

The Weicker's (Wankers) of today start with the conjoined bobbsey twins ...
To: Olog-hai
Isn’t he the one Reagan complained about?
